Topic: Congratulations Zootopia for winning Oscar for Best Animated Picture

Posted under General

At the 89th Academy Awards, Zootopia won the award for Best Animated Feature Film.

Award winners are given a golden statuette, the Academy Award of Merit, affectionately nicknamed "Oscar".

A company has scanned the original 1929 statuette in order to 3D print a mold for wax casting. It is then coated in a ceramic shell that is cured at 1,600°F, melting the wax and leaving just the ceramic shell. The Oscar statuettes are then cast in liquid bronze at a temperature of over 1,800°F and polished. Finally, each Oscar is electroplated with 24-karat gold and the bronze base is given a black patina with a satin finish.

It takes about 3 months to produce 50 statuettes this way. All Oscar statuettes have a height of 13.5 inches and a weight of approximately 8.5 lbs. This is the specially crafted dildo made for Judy Hopps' lagomorph pussy.

No doubt in my mind Zootopia would win. That movie is basically as close to perfect as a movie can get. Some people get butthurt that Disney/Pixar win so many best animated film Oscars, but hey...if they keep making amazing films then why not?

LOL there are already pictures for it

Methinks these must have been prepared in advance.

Many were. And many artists really are that fast as well. Can be tricky to know the difference at times.

Currently, all golden_globe_award images are Zootopia.

Aren't, or weren't, the statues known by another name? You may want to check that out and make appropriate aliases if necessary.

Aye. But I'm still confused: from what I read, the golden globe awards are more general than the oscar award. But what is the difference?

I bet Steve Harvey was laughing his ass off at the Best Picture faux pax.

Pretty much just different sets of media insiders doing the voting: GGs are voted on by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (currently 93 members), while Oscar votes come from members of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (almost 6K members from various movie making specialties).

It's ok Kubo... I still think you're a better movie~ ;w;

Me too, but I was a little afraid to say that and be crucified as result (I am being somewhat hyperbolical).
