Do we have a tag/tags for fingering someone else yet? I don't even know if I've heard a noun for it. If there's something, it's definitely not used much. Tricky to search for it.

That seems to still be equally for self, though. And those do make sense as distinct tags that can both be self or another. Still vaginal masturbation if it's using a toy or something, or fingering if it's fingers. But handjob's different in that it means masturbating someone else. Looking for something along the lines of like masturbating_another or something like that. Actually maybe that's the easiest way to do that. Still room for being more specific with various ways like handjob provides, but the general tag would be good too.

^ this. The wiki for masturbation specifically says "...sexually stimulating themselves...", whereas fingering is just "Inserting the fingers into an orifice...".

If that were the only way the word were be used, mutual_masturbation would be a nonsensical term. You're still masturbating someone if you're manually stimulating them. The masturbation wiki definition works fine for the way it's used, and the right thing to do to keep that intact and tag what I'm describing too is just make another tag for it. We have one of them so far in handjob. Just missing some others to go along with it.

We had something about group masturbation at some point on that question but I don't think it went anywhere. It just seems to be the going term. Too unwieldy to split duo_masturbation or something out from it, but it could be good to think of something that says what it is without talking about how many people it is. Like masturbating_together or something. Mutual_masturbation should be fine as is, though. It's the regular term for it. What would make more sense? Whatever I was originally asking about would fit it fine, because there's not necessarily any reason why reciprocating wouldn't fall under the same umbrella as just one doing it to another. Still wouldn't be eliminating the word masturbation from it though.

Yeah.. Adding a duo_masturbation tag would probably be too much work, and at least group_masturbation matches the group_sex tag.

So never mind that one. Mutual_masturbation is more problematic because it requires too much clean-up. There seem to be some regional differences in the usage: 'mutual masturbation' can mean the same thing as group_masturbation and circlejerk. But as long as nobody can come up with a better alternative, there's nothing that can be done about it.

Yeah, there's a lot of surface area in the variations. It feels borderline untenable to try and name every notably different thing individually, but the constituent parts at least might be useful. Alone/partner/group and doing to self/other.. With something saying doing something to someone else, maybe as many as all of those could drop out of necessity. Because you can't do something to someone else without someone else there, and on its own it doesn't make any claims about how many others there are or how many are doing it to another. Can't find anything that seems to be an actual common term for the transitive form of masturbate though. Looks like right now for fingering we do have fingering_partner and fingering_self. That might be enough along with the fingering variations to do everything it needs. Along with handjob, that probably covers enough specifics to not need one term for all of it.
