Topic: Who are decent animators?

Posted under Off Topic

I am looking for someone to do a couple different animations, and I want to go all out on these! But I know there are artists that strictly adhere to certain sites, like pixive, sofurry, inkbunny, etc.

What kind of animation? There are 2D and 3D animations.

For 2D, I'd recommend (in no particular order):
-Zonkpunch
-Diives
-FuzzAmorous
-Jasonafex

For 3D, I'd recommend (in no particular order):
-h0rs3
-Dragon-v0942
-Jessica Anner

With 2D you also have to consider that do you have readily available artwork you want to get tweened or one done from scratch. Do you want flash style or frame-by-frame? Interactive, loop or full lenght?

Because many artists do things very differendly and can do very differend things.

As for artists adhering to certain sites, what else should they do, set up their own websites? Pretty sure many do have some form of email to contact and usually sites let you see artists profiles even without registering.

We have wildly different tastes in animation, it seems.

Anyway, on-topic...

As far as animators go, I suppose I'd suggest Blitzdrachin.

For 3D, gonna have to say Corvidius, then again I'm biased and he's actually a really nice person to speak to on Skype, etc. He got me started with SFM so maybe that's why, still, his animations are pretty darn well made in my opinion.

It all depends on what you are looking for.

perhaps MegaPoly who did that 274MB behemoth of a dlash in that...wait, where is that "hey you, raichu!" pool?

that flash was a helluva lot bigger in file size than h0rs3's work but it was really high quality 3d.

here is said flash. um...probably better to download that one than view it in your browser as the loading will likely time out if your internet sucks.

Putting tweening on the same level as traditional animation is a pretty hilarious stretch.

That's because they were bit dum. Animation was saved as 1186 individual JPG files. Even if they were more compressed than normally those will still add up.

I actually did WebM version from those because of that, but of course interactive element is always impossible to convert

Also pool is at pool #6082

Also h0rs3 shares their stuff as high quality video on their patreon. If you tip them a bit of dosh, you get to realize how much the flash sucks for video sharing.

I wasn't going to say that myself, but yeah.

Tweening has a legitimate application in real animations, and there are some really good animations that make use of tweens. But, when your animation is nothing mostly or entirely just a tweened picture of someone else's... That's nowhere near on the same level as frame-by-frame animation.

Also "a pretty hilarious stretch". Just noticed that. Not sure if that pun was intentional, but it's a good one either way.

yeah, that would definitely explain the huge file size. might grab that video later and clear a good chunk of space on my laptop.

as for h0rs3's patreon stuff, didn't know about that but then again, i never use patreon. i made an account not long ago but that was just to comment and let someone know their free download links for the game they're making weren't working correctly. sucks when you put a link in jdownloader and it says the link is resumable only for said link to break. it just kept restarting the download constantly. :/

Thankies for the mention, TheHuskyK9
Though I should clarify that unlike the other two mentioned artists, I use pre made resources in SFM.
I've just recently started learning blender but I'm still a novice and far from using original creations.
Just something to keep in mind if I'm ever considered by Bammlander.

And this is why I partially touched on the subject of what the OP wants in my message, because there are artists like you and jasonafex, who do not do their own assets, but simply use ones made by someone else. At that point if you want animation with your OC in it, though luck or you need to additionally commission someone else to do the necessary assets.
