Topic: Tan vs. beige vs. cream vs. who knows what else

Posted under General

Is there any kind of logic to these tags? You have tan fur, for starters, with beige fur and cream fur aliased to it, but there's also tan background, which only has beige aliased to it, and tan scales, which only has cream aliased to it, and tan feathers, which doesn't have any colors aliased to it. tan tail and cream tail are separate tags, as are beige skin and tan skin, and also beige belly and tan belly. To top it all off, beige penis is the main tag and tan penis is aliased to it, because who needs consistency? /s Forum #219458 touches on this, but it broadly deals with a lot of color tags and there doesn't seem to be a definite conclusion in there.

In short, which tags should be used?

Edit: For simplicity's sake, I'll list all of the beige/cream/tan tags here.

Hmmm... I vaguely remember opening a topic (or otherwise chiming in somewhere) about the _fur tags. Which ultimately resulted in all three of them getting aliased to tan_fur because, as an admin put it, in this case it was too hard to apply consistency when tagging. Or at least expect a massive userbase to do that. Made sense, in hindsight.

So considering that, I think we simply forgot to then give the same treatment to the respective feathers, scales and background tags. Not really sure though, it's a bit long ago.

There's also peach fur, which is the only peach color tag (as far as I can tell). None of the other tags have a peach color alias.
