going through and tagging the number of participants in pictures, i come across the conundrum of user avatars popping up in posts.

i haven't seen an authoritative guide to character tagging, so i must ask if these avatars also are defined as characters. and furthermore, if the default "anon" icons on Tumblr and other media websites count as characters.

it would be nice to update the wiki with this information to prevent further confusion.

see for instance the first picture, which would be a duo without the avatar and a trio with. also the second picture, which would be a solo without the anon picture and yet a duo counting it.
