Topic: Cartoon Anthros you never heard of/Obscure characters you like

Posted under Off Topic

I talked and shown a friend the movie
Animalympics

He never saw or heard if this film,
not knowing any of anthro characters.

So I wonder is there a film, show, character you never heard about
or have heard, but not knowing 100% sure where they're from?

http://www.ospreygraphix.com/html/Screens/screens-alpha.html

heres a list of screens of female anthro characters only
A old site with retro shows.

Does any of these you never heard, seen before? or look familiar to you?

And if you like any of them?

o_O what is this "animalympics" you speak of?

hmmm... i don't know of any obscure characters right offhand but... huh, bucky o'hare? (looking at that site you linked) i'll add that to the list of old cartoons to check out.

o.O fish police? what's that... anthro fish...not really my kind of thing but whatever.

gah! not the old-gen MLP! NOOO! keep that abomination away from me! they're so ugly and blocky shaped... nope, not watching that one.

that aside, theres a lot of titles i recognize but haven't seen in a long time listed there. there was even a cartoon series based on the MMO Wakfu? didn't know that game had a cartoon based on it.

Professor Anne from Starship Sagittarius. I admit having a crush on her when I was a wee one.

I really like some of the mascots from the game Planet Coaster, like Cosmic Cow and Foxy (I still think they missed out on making Chief Beef a kind of Chief Bogo look-a-like). Buffalo Bell is another mascot I find endearing along with both the Lactaid Cow and the Laughing Cow (Skinny Cow too, though I prefer my bovines more meaty).

I also liked Mrs. Hudson from Sherlock Hound, Matilda from Skippy: Adventures in Bushtown (great porno name for cartoon too), Muffy Vanderschmere from Tailspin (Muffy is just a great name), and Julie Bruin from Tiny Toons.

For Males I like any of the boys from Wild West C.O.W.-Boys of Moo Mesa, but especially the Cowlorado Kid and Throttle from Biker Mice from Mars.

Yeah animalympics had that 80's early 90's tones
gheese animation back then were great
could been the painted backgrounds and style back them.
alot of cleavage in that film LOL gheese what the 80's can get away back then

yup fish police was a thing
I never watched it but seen and heard of it on tv years ago

retro MLP yeah i might saw one episode and it was silly...
the those cliches miss understanding cheating on someone's wedding?
gheese didn't know MLP was a drama show back then with a plot like that.

Skippy: Adventures in Bushtown lol sounds kinky

Yeah I like Wild West C.O.W.-Boys of Moo Mesa, the arcade game was fun.

Biker mice from mars i'm kinda a semi fan on the show
Or I forgot main plot as I was into tmnt and ghostbusters more,
that might have been the reason I looked over them
biker mice and moo mesa

You want OBSCURE!? I'll give you obscure! The Laughing Cow cheese mascot is actually kind of hot especially when she's drawn like this...

There's even a commercial where she's got a bunch of friends too, they're all pretty well-designed actually.

She's not that obscure
as she's from a common product

Foxy Roxy from brutal paws of fury is more obscure
I do like how the laughing cow looks tho

I actually think theres a carrot brands with bunny mascot
then theres another with a fox mascot

There's Sherlock Hound. I don't know how popular it was, but I only found it because I was looking through the movies at my public library.

Yeah it was old even when it was syndicated for western audiences. But it had pretty damned heavy subject matter for a 'kid's show'.

I like how older cartoons have heavy with subjects
but they're get overshadowed by simple cartoons
with to much on the nose common sense
lessons at the end

It's funny how more recent cartoons like Avatar: The Last Airbender are praised for tackling strong themes while much older cartoons that tackled the same kind of subject matter much earlier are dismissed as mere "kids shows". It's also funny how some people claim cartoons aren't diverse enough when shows like Captain Planet have been around for decades and have plenty of diversity.

Yeah... they want to censorship cartoons back then
or/and make them stupid simple way back when,
because of the "violence"...
gheese people standards are strange back then...
and that's why good cartoons get over shadowed or cancelled.

I like simple cartoons too..
If they got good writing
and are entertaining enough.
Not a cheap cash grabs cartoons
with an simple awful "no duh" lesson in it.

but I do like few cartoons like that for the theme,
art style, and trying to be...
but you can see it's being held back by the company
or stupid botching parents
that don't know how to raise their own kids
or don't know how to their tv's...
and we still got that issue today.
