Topic: Male_On_Herm and similar tags

Posted under Tag Alias and Implication Suggestions

It seems that Male_On_Herm is aliased to Herm_On_Male. It clearly is not the same thing. As I read it, the first gender mentioned would be the one verbing the 2nd gender.

I seriously doubt that searchers of one tag would be looking for the other tag.

Female_On_Herm is also aliased to Herm_On_Female which I suppose makes a little more sense (and possibly the origin of the other alias?), but still as I read it the first gender is the actor and the 2nd is the recipient.

Do we need better language for what the tags are trying to describe? Danbooru seems to prefer Gender_With_Gender, but that then makes the partner's positions ambiguous.

Tags like x_on_y seems to not indicate who is dominant, but rather are meant to be equivalent of straight tag for other genders. If dominant positions were tagged, it would rather similar to female_domination.

Non-gender x on y tags also works that way, for example anthro_on_feral is for both kinds of pictures.

I disagree that Gender_On_Gender does not imply positional relationships. That's the whole point of the preposition's existence! I didn't think of Anthro_On_Feral when I was making this thread, but I would apply it there as well.

FemDom illustrates exactly what I'm talking about, actually. I do want to make these tags like that one. The types who are looking for Herm_On_Male are probably ones looking for herms anally penetrating males. Having ambiguous tags is like if FemDom didn't exist and someone wanted to find it only by searching Straight.

Why not neutralize the tags by saying x-y_intercourse instead.

Because not all interactions are intercourse. There's also oral, toys, and other acts.

Intercourse is not strictly dick enters vagina.

That is the main definition, however. Anything else likely to be labeled 'intercourse' is also likely better defined by another term.

I still think this is an issue. At the very least even if these tags stay aliased we ought to come up with some way of indicating the positional relationship between partners as it seems like something that would be of interest to some folks when searching.

...you necrod a four years old thread to ask something you could have easily searched: male/herm footjob

I seriously wonder how even people find threads like this to necro.

"I'm going to search for 'herm' in the search bar and and then skip back forty pages to ask about my fetish. It is the perfect plan."

Maybe they don't know it'll bump it to the front page and think they'll get away with it.
Noone will ever know!
