Topic: What Would You Think of This?

Posted under Off Topic

I've been writing a Skyrim/Undertale crossover. It's called Eldertale! But before you say it, yes, I'm aware that Eldertale is the name of an entirely different game. So I could always call it "Skyrimtale"!

I found several different places in Skyrim to fit every single character in Undertale. I believe I've written at least a hundredth of the entire story (which is a lot). It might turn out to be one of those chapter books. After achieving this, I'll see if I can find a way to make a comic off of it! So what do you think? Is this a good idea so far?

Honestly?

I have already though about how the game itself was one of the best ones I played in 2015, but for some odd reason everyone seems to have this urge to create OCs and spinoffs to ridiculous degree. Because how else to praise game with some originality and personality than to not do anything original or personal with it?

I guess I thought it'd be fun to mimic each of the characters personalities from each game. Mainly what happens in the story is, Sheogorath, the Daedric Prince of Madness, somehow manages to barge into the Undertale Universe and teleport every monster in the Underground into different parts of Skyrim. I'm not sure how original this is, but it's mostly just for fun.

Crossovers are practically by-definition not original. Even if you pick two franchises that have never been combined, that still doesn't make it an original idea.

Mind you, an idea doesn't need to be original to be good. There are good ideas that are not original. Just saying.

I wouldn't post it here.

That's not what I plan to do. I'm just asking people in this community what they think about this type of crossover.

I don't think you meant it to sound hostile, but that's what it sounds like.

Honestly, I was never really into either of the franchises, but a new spin of two old franchises never hurt anyone. Again, to be honest, it's that kind of novel thinking that draws me towards fandoms like the Furry Fandom. We need more novel thinkers.
