Topic: posting from dropbox

Posted under General

ok. so i'm not really sure how to put this, but i'm having trouble posting/downloading a "video" from dropbox. now, I've seen other stuff posted from dropbox (or at least I think I have) so I know it's possible. but I think I might be doing something wrong in saving the file or uploading it wrong or something... what happens is this: the video downloads and plays just fine on my laptop, but when I try to upload it the file size is like 100x100 and then I get an error message that says "File is an unknown content type". so could someone sort of "walk me through this" or tell me what I might be doing wrong?

  • Only image files get thumbnail preview. For all everything else it will only show you the default thumbnail and generates the thumbnail after upload for WebM files. So having 150x150 and white box in upload form is fine. (Also for sites like Twitter the thumbnail generation is completely broken)
  • File is an unknown content type means you are uploading format that isn't supported. We support JPG, PNG (and APNG with .png file extension), GIF, Flash (.swf) and WebM.
  • If direct upload doesn't work, you can always download the file to local memory, select the file with upload form and put the URL in sources field as secondary source instead.
