I might as well jump on this little bandwagon. This thread is kinda like the other "what makes you" threads, only this is for things that don't make sense to you or make you wonder why things are the way they are. You never know, someone might have an answer.

Why do japanese video games, especially the exclusive ones, contain european music way more often then they do japanese music? I can name over 50 japanese games with classical music in it off the top of my head yet would struggle to name 5 games containing any traditional japanese music. You'd think games made by japanese companies for japanese gamers would contain a fair bit of japanese music but it seems largely absent for some reason.

My guess would be that european classical music sounds exotic for them or that it suits the game situations better.

Last I checked, the rule on that is it can only be done by the dominant group of a society. In Japan, that group would be the same people who are making these games: asians. But this isn't a social justice debate and we don't want some crybaby complaining about us ragging on their ideology.

Maybe, but that doesn't explain the games that are clearly japanese-themed having non-japanese style music so often.

The same reason the west has people who give random Japanese sounding names to characters without knowing what it means. Hell, I made this name 12 years ago and didn't know what it meant until 5 years later.

has anyone else noticed that the member/janitor/priveleged/etc. words under our usernames no longer have the different colored backgrounds?

that and for some reason, the esix extend thing seems to only be working in certain threads. like, it works on the forum index page, this thread but not the video game thread or the "waifu" thread.

eSix extend can't handle the new rank. Whenever someone with the Former Staff rank interacted on that particular page the script just aborts.
Until it's fixed the only solution is to turn of the rank flair in the setting for the script.

I've noticed this on some posts as well. I try to unpin the tag box so I can reposition it for and make tagging a little easier only to find the eSix stopped working again.

Turning of the rank thing in the script settings will stop the script from breaking. You'll lose the colors but that's it.

If you need to fix it now you can go to "edit this script" and change line 622

var rank = ranks[i], label = "level-" + rank.innerHTML.toLowerCase();

to

var rank = ranks[i], label = "level-" + rank.innerHTML.toLowerCase().replace(/ /g, '_');

But this doesn't add any decoration for the "Former Staff" label. you might want to post in the thread so Xch3l knows about it.
