Topic: What's it like and what do you do at a Furry/Anthro con?

Posted under Off Topic

Just a question I've been meaning to ask for the longest time to someone who's been lucky/fortunate enough to go to one. What's it like and what's there to do once you're there?

Is there like a gaming hall, Screening room, Panels
(oooo that's a good one! If there are panels; who would be the host? =)
and such or is socializing with other furs 24/7? ╹‿╹)

That's...Morbid = =)
Guess I shouldn't have ruled out any of this happening but are fur cons really that destructive?

To be serious, not usually. Bad behaviour happens, this is just a fact of getting a couple thousand hyped-up people together and mix in booze, but typically it is not on the scale of Rainfurrest 2015. It also matters a lot how the staff handles it. If con staff can't or won't handle problems, the con is going to suffer for it.

Generally though, people causing trouble are in the minority. Your experience is really going to be what you make of it. You can do nothing but talk to people, you can go and look at art, or you can party. Most elements that you might want to avoid like sex and alcohol are fairly easy to.

Ah, Fair enough.
With a set up of a ton a people, A ton of booze and little peeps to keep the peace any con can lose control. Though the stuff they did at Rainfurrest is just...wow ╹ ╹)

To get back on track though about what peeps actually do at these,
It sounds like an extroverts paradise lolz ◠‿◠)
Getting to me new but like minded people is always fun,
seeing art in person could be cool since you might meet
the actual artist while your there and anthro parties look
insane!
(Too bad I probably won't be going to one, I'm an introvert and places like that make me pretty nervous n-n;)

Though I must ask, Is there more to it/Other things to do?
Not that I don't like the stuff you mentioned, Just wondering
if there's more to do outside of the stuff seen in those fur-con
tour videos ╹‿╹)

There's panels, they vary in quality and size, gaming, some have movies, and many have larger shows/events like dance competitions, charity auctions, and talent shows. As far as there being 'more to it', you get out what you put in.
