When is a steak not made of meat? It's even defined as "A thick slice of meat".
there are mushroom steaks, which tend to be large mushrooms like portobellos, grilled and served
there are also other vegan/vegetarian steak things not necessarily meat related but i cant think of them on hand

Would you call fish "meat"? Because there are steaks that're made from fish, something I usually order when at a restaurant; you can also eat fish, but not meat, on lent.
White meat is meat, so yes.

While fish is indeed meat, mushroom steak is a genuine thing

Except it's not really a steak, just like soy milk is technically not milk.

How can you tell that a steak is made of fungus, and not of meat, excluding what you read, since you can't count what you read? After all, an arrow pointing at a cow saying fungus doesn't make that cow fungal fauna. It's still just a cow.

while this is true in a technical sense, if you see white liquid in a glass, you'd still by visuals alone (aka TWYS) assume milk yes?

As long as I have no reason to think it's cum or paint, yes. You can't tell if the milk in question is plant-based without additional information.
