Topic: People ruin Everything

Posted under Off Topic

So, I just looked at an Undertale picture, with a nice looking Asgore playing some basketball.
https://e621.net/post/show/887969

Someone comes in and comments that it sucks that "the real MVP" (sans) is sleeping.
They then go on to say that the artist "has some bias regarding Asgore" and that starts a little argument.

Which makes me think of a question.

Why is it that fans love something so much, they just HAVE to mess with it?
Creating too much unneeded stuff for it?
Bastardize fellow fans for their differing opinions?
Demonize the "haters" for saying one teeny tiny bad thing?
Acting like complete hypocrites in their hatred of other fandoms?

I've never understood why people act this way.

I never understood the point in adding unneeded drama to year-old comments.

Welcome to the world of fanboyism.

Doing those things and asking why people do them are wastes of CPU cycles. No part of it is worth notice. "Idle hands are the devil’s workshop; idle lips are his mouthpiece." ;) All involved start looking like this lady, my genesis for picking up that phrase. Bottoms up, and the devil laughs.

edgy title is edgy as fuck

and yeah, i didn't spend much time at all alerted to the existence of undertale but it was at least a meh game. the most joy i got from it was the cringe compilations it spawned.

the fanbase was absolute cancer, but so is you caring so much that someone said something stupid. in case you were unaware, no one cares about that comment and are now shaking their heads at you. you might want to just keep to yourself rather than trying to grab attention towards something that irked you, next time around

I didn't realize that image was over a year old.

It was just a little thought-up question that I had.

I thought that this community would be kind enough to answer it nicely.

Fandoms are garbage. Don't get too involved with them.

Cannonism is the blame. They try hard at making every little piece a cannon to the
actual saga or what-have-you. And a good swath of is always their made up fan codswallop.

So you're saying that "ponut" wasn't an all agreed upon thing? My, the naysayers were a very little party there.

If individuality were a bad thing, debugging would be a crime.

More like neighsayers. I remember someone once set up a petition to make ponut an official english word. It only got about 40 signatures.

I've seen that around. You google it and the petition site oddly comes up at top now. Bad part about it is, the word can still become canon in another sense. If Hasbros would even consider the thought.
