Aliasing cat-meff → syntheticimagination

Same artist

Edit: for some reason it says this alias already exists on the artist page for syntheticimagination.... when it isnt? or at least isnt working? bizarre

That's not a site alias, that's an additional name a user edited in onto their wiki page. The other names part of that page is a simple list, it doesn't actually affect tags whatsoever.

+1 for either way nonetheless. One of these two should have been suggested to be aliased to the other, they're both years old. 3 years for the prior, 2 years for the latter.

No no I get that (very often I try to edit wiki pages adding alternate names myself) just that for me the page literally said the account was under “tag alias:” for me and not an alternate name. It was kind of bizarre

Can you prove it? I just searched through every method you'd have been stalled with if you encountered an error involving tag aliases. There's not even a cat_meff or synthetic_imagination that'd give you an error.

If this was recent then you may have it in your recent history. This is really odd.

Out of the house atm but once I’m back I’ll see if I can make it happen again. It was weird ahaha

EDIT: here it is. as you can see it shows it has an alias to it even though.... it doesn't.
