Topic: CloudFlare blocks Russian VPN serice used to circumvent censorship

Posted under General

Today, I've tried to access e621 through the usual RosComFreedom VPN (http://antizapret.prostovpn.org), but Cloudflare showed the "resource unavailable" page to me...

I've been accessing it from the IP 107.150.11.192

It is probably because many people in Russia are accessing the site from the same IP and Cloudflare thinks it is a DDoS... Please, resolve this issue as soon as possible...

Wouldn't it be far better to contact Cloudflare about this issue?

I did, and their support told me:

Our apologies. The CloudFlare error message you are seeing as a site visitor is only something we can discuss with the site owner directly. Since the error message you are seeing may be caused by a security or performance feature that the site owner has turned on, or includes some other site issue that requires us to send log information, we can't make any changes to the site or site settings without speaking directly to the site owner. We would recommend that you contact the site owner directly with your concerns, including the full error message you are receiving (if any). We are more than happy to work with the site owner directly to help investigate the matter.

I responded to your email with the information we need to clear you through Cloudflare :)
