Topic: Is deleting pools possible?

Posted under Off Topic

I’m going to guess that deleting pools is not possible because there is a lot of pools containing nothing but deleted posts. Having one of these popping up like, 10% of the time (yes, there is plenty of them, although that might be a little exaggerated) you se ”oh, that pool name sounds interesting, i bet its a good po... oh” is kind of annoying (and sometimes dissapointing D: ). Don’t know if it’s impossible to fix, or even if it is possible just not done for some reason that I don’t know of, but would at least like to know why this is the case.

Pools can only be deleted by admins.

Usually even if content inside the pool is deleted, they are still kept around for various reasons, couple being in case the deletion is reversed and searching.

Altough I wouldn't be opposed to having some sort of mark in pool title if all the content inside it is indeed deleted and most likely not coming back.

Some of these, ”Futanari dog” Being an example (idk how to link pools, cant’t find ID, but here is post #40543, first post in the pool if you want to find it) haven’t been updated for years so I highly doubt the posts will be undeleted. Should I report those I find?

Use your URL, it’s pool #718.

Could you refrase that in a my-account-is-less-than-a-month-old-and-this-is-my-first-ever-forum-account-on-the-internet language? (Or looking back at what I just typed, useful link mhbe?)

Basically I’m saying ”wat is my URL???”

Right now, it’s https://e621.net/forum/show/247749

In your linked image, it’s https://e621.net/post/show/40543 (or roughly the same, there are settings that change it.

The URL is in your search bar when you do not remove it or replace it with a search. It should be located on the top of every webpage, and it contains the exact page you are using unless you change it. The numbers, as well as the location #, allow you to link to specific places on this site quickly. For example, forum #247749 is this forum page.

Ah, seen the word a few times but never really bothered to leran what it was. Also, never thought of using my, what I now know is my URL, that way. Thanks :p btw how do I use the ID to flag it? I mean, a post is easy: all the functions are simply listed, edit, flag, report etc. but I have no idea how you do it with a pool
??

You can’t report pools by using the ID, and you shouldn’t be reporting pools unless they’re breaking a rule. Off the back of my hand, I remember that using them for personal interest (use a set instead) and creating pools for images that’re otherwise covered by tags (“Hot foxes; Krystal pool; Men fucking men in the ass”; these are all tagged, not pooled). If the pools is redundant or already exists, it might be deleted but that depends on the situation. Reporting them because they only contain deleted posts is not a valid reason, there is an actual reason to keep them: organization for staff members. Staff members can see deleted posts, so should a post need to be undeleted or otherwise manipulated the pool will help them quickly access each post.

But, you do it with the report function near the top of the page, directly under the specific locations of this site.

Kinda guessed there was a reason, was more interested in what the reason was. I’ll just keep avoiding the empty pools.

Welcome to the website <3 Hope you don't let the little stumbles here deter you from participating further :)

If you compile a list of empty pools, I'm sure someone will help either demark them as empty, or maybe delete 'em... the hardest part is finding them :)

(also, if you have any other questions, feel free to send me a message--I'm no one special, but can probably get you pointed in the right direction :D )

Checked again, pool #7579 is also a proper pool now.
Also I tried to search for pool #8113 to see if it existed. Can I do that using the ID and not knowing the pool name? My guess is pool simply doesn’t exist but I wnted to make sure.

The pool has now been deleted so (I believe) only an admin can now access the page. It looks like Ratte has taken care of the whole list already. Thanks Ratte! ^_^

Just in case you havn't found it ;)

click on a user's name, then up at the top, near where it says 'my account'... it shoudl say "send message" :)

Alternatively, click on 'my account' and up in that top area, there's a section titled 'messages' and from there, you can hit 'compose'.. :)

Also, YAY fixed pools :D
