Alrighty, This has been a question I've been wondering for the longest time ever since I've gotten This Message on one of my doodles.

Now normally I would have moved on soon after reading this, thinking:
"Personal preference, Everyone has one but rarely are they alike."
but this statement still struck me as a bit odd since the doods work seem pretty solid. Though remembering that I haven't checked in with the comic I saw the guy in: "Servants of the Serpent" I decide to look the guy up on e621. I remember seeing the pages getting uploaded back then and since peeps usually race to upload the pages of comics like that I thought I'd be able to spend a hot sec catching and seeing if I hit any parts I thought were iffy too. I didn't agree with the guy but I still wanted to see where he was coming from, ya know? ╹‿╹)

Now, this is were it gets weird!
The comic was gone! Completly gone! Can you believe that?
I can't and what's even odder is that the artist is still present on the site so it's not like the artist is strictly on the DMP list.

But whatever, All of this could be circumstantial. maybe "Servants of the Serpent" was 'pay-for' content and removed for it not being 2018 yet. The fact that it's not here is not what I'm asking about.

What I'm asking about is was there something in "Servants of the Serpent" that happen to ruffle a lot of peeps feathers? Like was there a really bad trope used, Deus ex machina or something along those lines that caused such a backlash that it called for the possible removal of the whole comic?

I know I could be looking like a mad pupper here digging for a bone that might not be there in the first place but, my curiosity is really eating me on this one. Just seems like more than a coinkydink that the comic that seems to be doing so well out of the gate; suddenly disappears and left people with a bad taste in their mouths. It really makes a dood wounder.

They went C-DNP with the conditional being no comics are allowed to be uploaded on this site. This included past comics, they were deleted.

There was a takedown request of all their comics, based, I think, on the negative reception they were getting here.

On topic: Servants of the Serpent had a very bad plot. It was riddled with plot holes, contrivances, and the like, and the plot only moved forward because the main character acted like a complete moron constantly.

It wasn't that there was just one such thing, it's that it was as riddled with contrivances as your typical fox furry is riddled with semen on a Saturday night.

While the comic may have been doing well towards the beginning, one of the later pages managed an impressive score of -229 before being taken down, putting it as the fourth worst rated image on the site.

If you want, search for jasonafex status:deleted pool:8490 and read the comments to get some understanding of the gripes which people had, as well as the controversy. If you just want the most controversial part, here you go.

If you want a detailed explanation of why I think that the comic is bad, feel free to send me a PM. This has been discussed at length and will only start controversy up again by being on the forums.

Wow, That answers my question an then some.
Kinda cool to find out that I was right about such a leap of faith idea of the artist taking down their work due to backlash but, Really does suck to hear that the story really fell apart later on and sucks even more that I probably won't even get to see it. But really? A negative -229 on a single page? T ╹)

In the future, if a post has been deleted, often you can still find it by checking the sources field. This is the case with the SotS comic.

As for the rest, put like that, I can clearly see why the peeps would want their stuff removed. just adding status:deleted or status:any to searches make deleted posts visible. then just click on the "deleted" thumbnail like you would click to view any other image.
