Cheap Thrills, Badly Drawn Kitties, Bittersweet Candy Bowl, The Zistopia AU, and Out-of-Placers.

Cheap Thrills is dead as of late 2012, but it was my favorite webcomic. Pretty gritty, real, and relatable. Takes place in the early through mid 90s.
Badly Drawn Kitties is a simple, shameless comic about life in general.
Bittersweet Candy Bowl is basically highschool drama but with cats.
The Zistopia AU is pretty dark and goes off of the older ideas for the movie. Takes place in the 70's. Only way I can enjoy Zootopia. :v
Out-of-Placers is a fun fantasy story about learning about a new species through transformation. Pretty fun and I like the humor and worldbuilding.

Beyond the western deep/song of the eastern sands
Is fucking top tier GOAT comic

Crimson flag
Is a personal favorite, but I liked the old artstyle more.

The sprawl is a good one, you can find it on here. Though I believed it's only updating through its own website now.

Nordguards is awesome also.

Avoid twokinds or any comic about videogames. Both are trash.

I hate slice of life webcomics or those similar. Call me a nerd, but historic, post-apocalyptic, sci-fi and medieval fantasy are what I'm into. It's hard to find good ones that fall into those categories. Most are either dead or take some form of comedy with cringy bad humor.

There's not many furry webcomics that I'd recommend, except for Prequel. Which is barely updated nowadays. And not a webcomic.

Then there's Digger. Already finished. Won a Hugo award for best graphic story, but got overlooked by most because it used to be behind a paywall.

As for non-furry (and marginally furry) comics, here's my reading list:
Oglaf, XKCD, Broodhollow, Unsounded, Gunnerkrigg Court, Hark! A Vagrant

And I'm sure some folks here would like this old classic: When I Am King.

I guess I'm really begging for a fight. I find from experience that people who don't like slice of life is because they doesn't have a plot. A goal to reach. Is that a factor for you? Forgive me for being accusative.

I find it sad that the lack of a grand plot or a good ending causes some to dislike an otherwise perfectly fine series. Isn't it nice to be put off guard sometimes?

Hello. I wish to know of, and possibly share, some comics and etc. that people would suggest. I wouldn't necessarily say it needs to be furry, for instance I would suggest Zarla's Handplates AU or Goblins! , or stories like The Raptor Diaries , but I'm open to all. Then, there are ones like this that i'd like a source to.

So, any suggestions?

Poppy O' Possom
Skin deep

A few others I wanted to mention already were.. Such as out of placers. Been following that one a lot lately.

i should look into webcomics more often. i still frequent The Middle Ground for those hosted there (those tournament comics and irl stuff must be keeping AkumaTH rather busy as his main comic hasn't been updated in a while now) but that goblins comic looks like it'd be interesting.

oh wait, i just remembered a couple of others i...seldom check anymore. so i'm not sure when they were last, or how often, they're updated.

Exterminatus Now and Suicide for hire i'd also point out zoophobia but last i checked it's been inactive for a good while and might not even be updated anymore. :/

edit (2 days later): well, took a couple days but i'm now up to date on the webcomic, Goblins.

pretty good overall. HUGE emphasis on the D&D stuff though but that also gave me some ideas for potential romhacks or maybe a mod or 2 for D&D pc games (not that i know how to do either of these but if anyone is ever open to suggestions and want to give it a try...). that being monsters as playable races! i mean, if the goblins can do it then why not other species of monsters?

that could be as simple as a change of pics/sprites/character models while maintaining the normal classes and whatnot.

let's see...how many pages was that to read through... 252. a good size with large pics. in comparison, the simpler (though with a vastly lengthier story) sprite comic Akumath does over at The Middle Ground is currently (and still not updated yet. :/ ) at page 2115 but it typically has less panels and the pages are smaller overall (aside from holiday pages and the 100/yearly credts/anniversary events. theres also been several flash animations for certain parts throughout his comics history.)

i have a...request i guess.

would anyone here happen to know of some place i could download or at least read through the Chakan: The Forever Man comics? i always did like the game (save for that last fight where deaths screws chakan out of eternal slumber...a 2nd time.) and would really like to see what the comics the games were based were like.

Endtown is a good comic. It tells the story of a world ravaged by disintegration weaponry and radiation that transformed the populace, for better or worse. As of right now there are +1500 pages and it is updated (I believe) every 2 days.

Don't know if you've ever heard of Slightly Damned (http://www.sdamned.com) but it's worth a look. [I personally haven't read it in a while, so it's seen quite a few updates, but] Allow me to describe to you the plot and important, first bits of the comic series:

"Rhea Snaketail, a Jakkai, was mysteriously murdered. Not good enough for Heaven yet not bad enough for "real" Hell, she is sent by Death to The Ring of the Slightly Damned on the outskirts of Hell. There she meets a naive young Demon named Buwaro. Behind Buwaro's cheerful demeanor lies a tragic past and a terrible secret. With the help of Buwaro's sister, Rhea and Buwaro manage to escape Hell. They find themselves in the mortal world of Medius, in the country of Fragaria, in the graveyard where Rhea's corpse was once buried."

-Cited from the comic's source.

Like I said, it's there if you're interested. It's quite creative and unique, and it has it's fairly-more-than-occasional funny bits in there. I'm actually pretty sure the artist has an account on here, too, so you might be able to find out more there.

It was alright but goddamn, it took way too long for things to happen. Takes a lot of patience to go through that one.

You have all given me comics, one of the ones I can give you is The Book of Biff webcomic. It has been stopped, unknown if it will ever continue, but it's a great one-panel comic shorts.

Dan and Mab's Furry Adventures, or DMFA. It's not that good in the beginning, but it gets much better as it goes on. Compare the first strip with the most recent.

I don't read comics much, but I do like the ones I've uploaded.
Dragon's Burn is also nice.
I also strongly recommend Pandemonium -Wizard Village-.

Cheap Thrills. Love that one.

Clicked last page and was like "woah, the art looks so different!"

Haychel does Tales of Elysium

His art style is cute yet beautiful, and the comic is dark yet humorous. Pretty great imo but then again, I love Haychel's work! (and Slydragoon who writes it!)

edit: woah, 200+ pages in chapter 2 already?! I must have last read it ages ago!

Since this includes traditional comics, I'm going to recommend Dungeon by Lewis Trondheim. It's a dark-humored fantasy series set in a world populated by anthros and various monsters. High on violence, nudity, and other adult themes. The whole story covers centuries, which means that there's very few happy endings: characters die, many violently, and victories often pave way to eventual downfall.

Huh, nobody's mentioned Housepets!, Freefall, Girl Genius, Awkward Zombie, or Order Of The Stick yet.

I used to read Endtown but the fans of that comic tend to be creepy worshipers that will tear apart anyone who dares to say that something in the comic isn't perfect. It's a well drawn comic, has some very good writing, but it also has an author self-insert (same first name, even!) 'dimensional traveler' with super powers who looks like someone's Doctor Who fan character (the author claims he doesn't even like Who... uh-huh). Also it's not a very happy comic, while there are some hints of happiness here and there, after the mostly positive ending of the first arc he really starts to torture the characters with nobody getting any comeuppance (even when villains die he somehow tends to make it feel bad) and between the annoying fans and the comic just getting more and more depressing I only check in on it once in awhile. It's a very YMMV comic... you might like it a lot. I like parts of it a lot. I also don't ascribe to the idea that if someone wrote something good that EVERYTHING they write after that is good.

I feel like it's not even the same comic after the first arc with Al and Gustine and I would actually recommend new readers to just quit right there because once Wally shows up the storylines basically make you wonder if the characters are already in hell.

Endtown is like two very different comics bundled together.

Which part to skip, well depends I guess. For me, the first part was meh.
New readers: the first part is about a human and a rhino lady named Justine. The second part (ongoing) is about a cat named Wally.

And yeah, it's not a happy story.

I recommend Zebra Girl and Kaspall as two of the best.

Zebra Girl is a supernatural adventure comic that will be coming to an end soon after a 17-year run. Joe England improved a lot as a writer and artist over that time, so the comic starts out pretty good and eventually becomes mind-blowing. Seriously, the art now is some of the best in all of webcomics, and the Subfusc story arc alone is worth the price of admission.

Kaspall is a supernatural mystery comic (Hmmm. Am I revealing my preferences?) that ended in 2015 after an 11-year run. It's set in a city where lost or accidental dimensional travelers just seem to wash up, so there's this huge variety of species, cultures, and weird magic and technology.
