Topic: Can 'petplay' be tagged when it is only implied?

Posted under Tag/Wiki Projects and Questions

Should I tag petplay on images which depict an anthro or human character in a questionable feral-style dogsuit or other animal suit, where the petplay is implied? Or does the petplay tag require that the character is explicitly engaging in pet roleplay via their interactions with other characters or their behavior.

In other words, do posts like this, which clearly imply some sort of petplay but don't directly show off the idea that the character is playing the role of a "pet", per se, belong in petplay?

The image you linked doesn't imply any sort of petplay. It's just a guy in a costume. he could be in it for any number of reasons. Maybe it has to do with sex, but maybe it has to do with Halloween, or maybe he's just a furry, or something else.

Stick to where there's actually some sort of clear roleplay going on.

I went through and found a couple better examples of ambiguous petplay:
post #1328018 Character is wearing a recognizable model of pup hood, but since it's a headshot, roleplay beyond the costume is ambiguous.
post #1003683 Looks like a pup hood and gloves, but the character is anthro so it could be a case of furgonomics instead.
post #1023846 The bone gag is a piece of pet play gear, but the character is already a feral dog.
post #1269571 Another possible case of furgonomics.

Some stuff I'm seeing in the tag that's NOT petplay:
post #1251922 This is just a character on a leash, they're otherwise not acting like an animal.
post #1128901 This is just bestiality with some restraints.
post #951187 There needs to be more than just a leash+from_behind_position.

yep, that's the sort of thing I'm asking about. I was having trouble finding a better example of it so I just grabbed one of my own recent uploads where I couldn't decide.
