The wiki for the forum is woefully empty and essentially useless, as is the search function without some way to specify away the irrelevant chaff. Works fine if I want to find all posts by a user, but if I want to check whether a tag has been discussed before and it doesn't include uncommon words, I have to depend on luck placing it in one of the first few pages. It also doesn't seem to parse underscore the same way as the post search does, appears to treat it as a space, so if I search female_to_male I get all posts containing those three words. If I am missing something obvious, I would greatly appreciate some help!

I can't help with your forum question, but I'm going to just cut you off on female_to_male by saying that it and similar tags don't get used here because a third of people will use them in the context of crossgender, another third will use them for transformation sequences, and the last third will use them for trans characters. It gets messy when people are trying to create a single tag for three different things.

Hmm, it would be good with a decent forum wiki, I seem to recall that there's a way of searching only titles, and things like that would be great to have documented somewhere.

To answer your question: I think you have to choose between looking at a specific category and searching.

Yeah, I noticed the usage of that tag was something of a hot mess, so I ended up just leaving it alone.
