Some interesting info for anyone that doesn't know it yet:

#This is the "lighter tone"? I just want a dating sim without speedy boy or someone coming after my soul.

Yes very much. It was much darker than what was released in public today. However again as I said, in the original story board; it became too religious and less focused on romantic novel part.

Not to mention Steam already got in trouble about a Religious fighting game causing an entire country to block Steam to prevent their citizens from purchasing anything from their website after failing to comply to their wishes.

So this game was heavily butchered and "white washed".

# Someone mind explaining this, considering the true ending? It's from the trailer at ~1:14.

>There were some major changes during its development and to sum it all up "Artistic Disagreements" happened.

They didn't want the game to get too dark and went with a lighter tone. They also tone downed a lot of characters personalities through out the entire cast.

In example "Clouded Leopard" didn't start as a dumb savage we know today, he was similar to "Kouya" 's personality in Morenatsu; however there were some major disagreements between the devs saying that the "spirits" being represented were not being true to the historical records of how Taiwan worship their gods today.

Which is why if you read the Glossary they make notes that story is based on 2015 and below. There's even a reference about 2012 about a town; which suggests that the project for this game began around 2010-2011.

Going back to the point; in artistic value and respect to the historical records; all 3 spirits that affect the MC represents the 3 stages of difference/ascendance.

- You had the Guardian Tiger that represented God state.
- You had Clouded Leopard represent Yaoguai (Strange).
- You had Senpai represent Yaoguai (Evil).

They hinted and explained many times in the story, after it was revised, that its possible for Yaoguai to become good eventually but the requirements for that varies and differs from case to case.

While the developers didn't want to offend anyone they had change the ending story that the bad guy could find redemption. In real life reference in Taiwan, why these temples were built to help the evil ones seek peace.

In the story, the bad guy was meant to die and that he was meant to represent the 7 sins; which is why the short and vague reference from Jiahao that recently his family abandon worshiping "Yaoguai" and converted to Christianity.

If you talk to the "Clouded Leopard" at some point of the story he mentions a different problem that ignores the "Typhoon" disaster and speaks about Temples being destroyed and forests burning.

His kind were being hunted down by the Humans and dying. Which is also hinted by the Senpai towards the true ending about the nature of "Yaoguai" and what he was. When he was asked some time in the story about the "Temple" he said that building it would not be enough and that he needed worshipers.

So... again you need to replay the story many times and make bad decisions because the Developers left the original story in there. Why they did that, who knows? However the game was changed significantly.

My guess the scene shown in the trailer is that MC was killed by the people when he was trying to recruit others for the "Yaoguai".

# Were these disagreements amongst the team memebers made public somehow...or is someone here from the development team leaking all their secrets?

Yes and no.

There was a fund raiser back then during its kickstarter to help this game and the company launch and those that donated a certain amount of money to the kickstarter were given access rights to watch the game being developed. Those that also paid during the Kickstarter would be the first round of customers that would be given access to the R-18 (pornish) part.

However later on those that supported the kickstarter suggested this game be taken to Steam to be "green lighted" and here we are today. Steam pretty much cut out all the adult pornish talk and the art itself and did a couple re-writes to avoid a couple pedophile cases when it was being translated.

While the game in public states the kid is in college due to some clever thinking; its never revealed how old they are other than the hint that they are Teenagers. In Taiwan, you can get into college around ages 14-16 if your score is high enough.

Which is why there is so many references in the game about him hitting the books to increase his over all score.

Edit:

Also if you remember that joke that the Guardian Tiger was making teasing the Main Character of having an "Open Relationship" with the other Guardian Tigers and he was okay with it?

That wasn't a joke in its development stages and as a hidden easter egg, you could unlock the picture that showed the Main character in an orgy with the entire Guardian Tiger clan and his Brother (the priest there) watching in the back.

While this entire idea and picture was scrapped the hints towards this was not. As when you get those good endings with the Main Character falling in love with the Tiger, the game itself mentions multiple times in all those endings how he has to fend off those tigers so that the Main Character could have time for himself but having enough energy for his true lover.

Again... this kind of scene would upset the world as it involves incest due to the brother watching him and the orgy picture condones a minor with older males.

#The Steam version is the same as the regular (SFW) edition on the official site, right?

> It should be but because they completely scratched out the third part of the story involving "Clouded Leopard"; half of the achievements were broken because the script is still following the original untampered story.

So they've been patching it to fix that and... they've fixed a couple of typos. It helps being the first wave of players to finish the game first because this gives the player insight on how the game was meant to be, if... you were not a kickstarter.

Since I already known how the story was meant to be since its development stages, its easy for me to spot the changes. However its repetitive for me to check every time a change happens because it ruins my experience I had with it each time. I know they are changing it to remove any more traces of the old script but again as... other players had mentioned here; its not that hard to piece together.

The real question is... if you choose to accept the original story line before its changes to make it more acceptable to the public world; can you forgive all three felines?

- Can you forgive the Guardian Tiger for being strictly a "follow orders" type person that would even created a forced loved to accomplish his tasks?

Note: Remember the father never agreed to your life choices and... he's the one that gave you the statue. The tiger was only born after... you entered the city.

- Can you forgive the Clouded Leopard for using you to accomplish his revenge against the evil cat that killed his worshipers and turned his people against him? Even after fully knowing that if he possessed you, he would consume your soul?

Note: This is the original script, not the dumb savage kidnapping story you have now. You can still find traces and hints of this in the game.

- Can you forgive the evil cat that was hired as an assassin to kill Humans and Spirits alike to steal their power and wealth to be given to the mafia in exchange for the victims' souls to be devoured upon on? Could you accept the idea that after all of that, that he was hired to kill you but instead he fell in love you, even after he used a child in the mafia family that had the hawts for you as well and yet was tricked and died for it? Could you really believe that the evil cat's love for you is real?

Note: This is the original story line before it was scrapped. You can still find traces and hints of it in the game.

So, if anyone's got any more content on the original story I'm looking at you orgy.jpg please, do share.

Add spoiler tag to each paragraph separately. It doesn't seem to like empty lines.
