Topic: Redirects on rule34.xxx?

Yesterday I was redirected to some suspicious cam site. Trying again today got me redirected to 'cartoontube'.

Anyone else having these problems?

Normal behavior for their shitty advertising solution. Best you can do is simply not visiting them without an ad-blocker.

One time when I went on rule 34 my computer nearly got f***ed because it came up with a message saying "java critical error, needs updating" or something like that. It was clearly fake, but at first it wouldn't let my exit the tab!

I was running with an adblocker on full force. It came up anyway.

You might need a custom script for it. Different ads have different code types, and the ones that are redirecting you might be written different than the default script detects.

Any ideas how I might go about doing that?

Well, you could always google blocklists for it. I have Easylist on mine

I use NoScript. Needs a bit more user input but blocks everything in that direction like a charm.

Got a link for that that'll work on Chrome? Just so I don't grab the wrong program and make everything worse.

Even if you're using an adblocker, there's sites (like pastebin) that use an anti-adblocker but most just put a "unblock our ads pls?" in place of the ad.

There's others that use AABs to circumvent ad-blocking (I didn't think they really did it). I've made a script for that but uses a special function that's only available on Opera ( “BeforeScript” ) :/

I've seen a similar function on FireFox but haven't tested it....

Speaking of Adblock, does e6 field ads to not have those malicious ones?

You can try uBlock Origin and Ghostery for Chrome. uBlock is meant as a more efficient alternative to AdBlock, AdBlock Plus (ABP), AdBlock Edge, and other AdBlock derivatives. As I just discovered, though, you need to allow uBlock in incognito mode (Settings > Extensions > [find uBlock on list] > enable "Allow in incognito") if that's how you access sites like rule34. uBlock also allows users to block specific parts of webpages using "Element picker mode" for ads or other annoying webpage components that weren't blocked initially.

We use ads from dragonfruit, and it is an in-house solution, aka the boss of dragonfruit.it is our lead admin Dave, all ads are screened and then hosted on our own servers. The ads we employ are only the banners you see at the top, no sound, no external code, only gif, static images, or silent swf files. There are no pop-ups or pop-unders, or whatever else retarded things other sites pull.

Also, sometimes Kazeerad runs hilarious ads through us. Sadly I don't have the second one saved anymore, I'll need to see if Dasa still has a copy.

I use NoScript as well, but it behaves weirdly with YouTube's ads when using HTML5 despite having disabled it for that site.

You need to whitelist some other server from Google as well for YouTube, but I can't remember which one. Just try the other ones one by one until it works (I have most of these enabled because I need them for various things).

yep, and that's the reason i eventually stopped visiting armorgames for flash games and mmos. i get they need money but they bypass adblockers and they're subscription they offer doesn't even block all ads like they advertise. i'd rather stick with less greedy sites. kongregate doesn't use adblocker bypass methods.

Stop visiting rule34 it's a pretty shit site. Actually i did some measurements and now e621 grows faster than rule34 in every way: https://www.google.hu/trends/explore#q=e621%2C%20rule34&cmpt=q&tz=Etc%2FGMT-1
and last month 24 584 pictures were uploaded to rule34, while 25 544 was uploaded to e621. Go e621 go! :D

Paheal is good for getting both human and furry stuff, but they suck at tagging so it's kind of moot.

Makes you appreciate the sites like this, where advertisement is sensible and actually interesting.
Though flash ads are automatically blocked on chrome now so most of the ads won't play with vanilla chrome without user allowing it. On mobile gifs lag on some browsers really badly. Been seeing some HTML5 ads lately and holy moly those look weird with 144Hz monitor when ads usually have frame rate of a slideshow.

Sites using rule34 in title are popular only because search engine "optimization", because that's well known synonym to "porn of X character" and it also includes those "there can't be porn of that" searches. Because of that of course you pump those sites as full of ads as you can (though I guess that's why people are using adblocks, so cause and effect?)

If you're looking for human art as well, try using The Image Board Search Engine. It only covers 9 boorus, though, and a good chunk of those images will probably come from eastern artists.

Huh, that's neat, but I can't seem to find info on what "Uberbooru" is. Does it just include everything?

At first I was really afraid if this website would bare ads with malware, I'm so glad this website is so different from others...thank heavens.

I hate being sent to a live cam...it's so awkward, I have my webcam settings shut off...but does that really keep them from seeing me? One time I accidently clicked on a ad and it sent me to a webcam, the person on the other screen looked away and I wasn't sure the person saw me or not. Ugh...

Unlike e621, rule34.xxx and paheal for that matter aren't supported/hosted by a company like bad dragon. In house ads are the absolute best for quality control but they alone wouldn't even pay the hosting bill.

To be honest I have found that Gelbooru and rule34.xxx have the most retarded people on there. The tagging is horrible since it's flooded with autism basically.

Paheal may have similar people, but the tagging limits their stupidity.
This site doesn't seem to have as many stupid people.

I mean on rule34.xxx I see 3D model pictures tagged as "real", I see normal perspective pictures (like ass close to the camera) tagged as "bad anatomy" I see pictures of people doing something maybe slightly flexible (something even a young man like myself can do) tagged as "bad anatomy".
It's clear the basis of this bad anatomy comes from the physical limitations of these overweight autistic men that spend their life on there and thinking things are impossible since their own body is so fat and immobile.

I see pictures tagged as "cervix" when there is no such cervix visible, I see things tagged as blue eyes when the character has green eyes.

I see them even argue in the comments and they have barely even a grade 6 education and don't even know the proper definition for most words like "amputation". etc

Anyway, the point is those sites are full of the most stupid people I have witnessed on the internet.
And yes, the stupid pop up ads or pop under ads and redirects also are silly.

Also, rule34.xxx and Paheal are two different websites. Rule34.xxx, like Furry Booru, rips posts from other boorus, so the tags are usually left intact.

I'm surprised that e621 only has about 668,688 viewable images so far. Do images get deleted that frequently or am I just mistaken about the frequency of uploads?

That's a good site, it cuts out all the hassle of going to ridiculous sites like gelbooru and r34.xxx when we are just looking for the porn art and not seeing the autistic retards comments/tags on those sites or loading up those sites ads and pop ups etc.

So using ibsearch is a great tool.

If the images you are talking about are all human(oid)s then that would have more to do with Danbooru's obsession with anatomical perfection than incompetence on Rule34.xxx's part.

um...actually, i think those bypass adblockers. shitty advertising solution using shitty adblocking program bypass methods. much like the ads seen on pornhub which to this day seem impossible for ABP to block.

to such sites: bypassing adblocking software does NOT solve your shitty ad problem. it merely gives us adblockers even MORE of a reason to avoid your site.

Which is good for them, because adblockers consume system resources without making them any ad revenue.

I would prefer that they simply used less invasive ads and adblocker software enforced fairness, but alas that is a pipe dream.

and users pay them to make money off them via ads in the form of bandwidth. if your ISP employs shitty bandwidth caps then guess what. a portion of your caps goes to ad companies making money off of you.

a ad heavy page will in fact load at a fraction of the normal speed if the ads in question are blocked.

edit: and...i just realized this was a necro'ed thread. oh well, still a useful topic.

ABP vs pornhub

it's been years now with no lasting solution.

Which is why I would prefer "less invasive ads"... these are basically small, non-animated PNG banners in tasteful margins of the page

Instead of adblock plus try the holy trinity of uBlock Origin, Self Destructing Cookies (optional), and Disconnect, all available through the Firefox add-on tab. If you're even more paranoid NoScript will take care of everything else.
That's pretty much the equivalent of going grocery shopping in a tank but it works very well and preserves as much bandwidth as possible, if that's a concern to you.

self destructing cookies? o_O sounds like a type of weapon pinkie pie would come up with. but ok, i guess i can at least check them out if nothing else.

can any of that block even pornhub's unkillable ads though?

Cookies are bits of data your browser saves.

The proper use is to keep login information and preference settings so that the web site remains properly tailored to the user.

More abusive sites will instead use them to track you and serve more targeted ads.

yeah, i know. i was just poking fun at that add-on name is all.

O.O 364+ self destructed...right off the bat no less. no wonder firefox lagged after installing this one. wow

and the ads are still on pornhub. well, the animated ones might've been blocked but the unanimated (hopefully harmless) banner ads are still there but i could care less about those so long as they don't take up a huge amount of space on the page.

no, wait... 24...yeah, ublock definitely blocked a lot on that random pornhub page i picked. and disconnect was showing 2 on its little green notification icon. huh, more crap on that site than i knew about. :/

edit: wow... was just on reddit and clicked a link to a time.com page...

ublock: 48 requests blocked

disconnect: 70 requests blocked and it also loaded 10% faster with 6% less data used.

and the cookies were nuked (and nothing of value was lost lol).

and i thought pornhub's ads were bad. lol no wonder people prefer to use archive.is for sites such as TIME.

time does seem to have a sense of humor however. if you block their ads you can see a "NO Ads" banner thing up at the top of a page and in a small black section it says "break time". click it and it makes the whole page fall apart before refreshing and removing said banner.

Updated by anonymous

Yeah, it's surprising what stuff they try to serve you. Remember to whitelist pages where you like to stay logged in in the cookie addon, and you can whitelist ads you like to see in both uBlock and Disconnect.
You can also change when cookies are destroyed, either when you close the tab(s) of that particular page, when you close the browser, or never.

long story short: found a way to restart the computer and everything was fine. I now use adblock plus all the time, Don't remember if I did use it back then though. Hell, 3rd party browsers never used to install on my computer either, it works now though. Chrome is the best!

If you use ANY adblock on almost ANY other Booru site it will block 75% of everything from said Booru's from working, including showing the original image... Favorites, Up/Down votes, even making a forum post asking why their Booru's are so use-unfriendly...

Adblock now blocks all scripts from said Booru's so I decided to turn it ON in e621, and the site still works. (aka because e621 doesn't spam a million flashing ads and make so when you click anywhere it minimizes your browsers and bypasses your settings to download a bunch of shady compresses files... like rule34.xxx by example)

Do not use Adblock on e621.net, it doesn't rape your eyes with cancerous ads or infect your PC with unwanted trash.

Incase you want to enter rule34.xxx and other booru pages, you will need ContentBlockHelper, unlike other Adblock programs, it allows your to block EXACTLY what you want. (Aka make the "Obviously named Ad names" Red and anything with /index/, post or something the likes be Green)

But yeah e621.net is the only booru that works with Adblock, but you should not use it, unless they decide to make 50% of their page flashing ads that auto downloads shit. :p

sounds like either need a new adblocker or maybe try those 3 add-ons NMNY suggested cause you shouldn't be getting 75% of the content your trying to see blocked.

Well, that or the ads start causing massive slowdown again. There was a short period where the site was borderline unusable without an ad blocker.

That was an unfortunate bug where the ad server was overloaded and the ads didn't load asynchronously. Thankfully we fixed both issues, and even if the ad server dies now it won't affect e6 itself anymore.

This is on rule34.xxx. It's the people who tag stuff on there, they are retarded. They don't know anything about anatomy or biology, they tag things with things that don't make sense, or get confused about perspective and tag "bad anatomy" when there is no bad anatomy in the pics.

For example there was a hentai art picture with a woman doing something rather flexible, yet they tagged it as bad anatomy because they claimed that it's impossible. Yet I am a guy and even I could do what is in the picture and there are many pictures on the net of real women doing it also. It's like the taggers are fat ass losers and just because they have zero flexibility they tag stuff as "bad anatomy".

They also tag nearly any picture that has a foreskin as "phimosis" once again showing their lack of education on biology.

They even tagged a few 3D images as "Real". And they even tagged a real Japanese porn gif as "interracial" yet it was just a Japanese guy with a tan who was doing the woman.

They tag "cervix" on many pictures when it isn't even visible.

There was a series of pictures, it had a woman with a strap-on dildo. It was tagged as such in the first picture, but in the second picture they tagged it as "futa" and claimed that because they can't see the straps in the particular shot that it has to be tagged futa, it's seriously autism infested on that website.

I am not saying the people on here are that great either, but it's at least one step up. I see some users on here repeating such nonsense as "if your dick was that big you would lose consciousness when you get an erection" then other users as a reply saying stuff like "bro keep your science out of this". It's rather stupid on this website also, but to be honest it isn't like these areas would attract a horde of smart or successful people.

It's just annoying seeing professional artists and game designers make hentai and then a bunch of autistic and low IQ morons on sites like rule34.xxx tag it with such autistic things as a result of their own retardation and mental illness.

I have never been to Danbooru, but I doubt that there are magically a different crowd of people there, I bet it's a similar level of stupidity and autism that you see on rule34.xxx and gelbooru.

It isn't the people that made the website, it's the retarded users and mods of the website that make it retarded. But you can't expect much really.

In short, the education level and understanding of science and anatomy on these websites is very poor, letting people like that tag things only leads to retarded results.

Many seem to have the thinking level of a 12 year old child, but I know they are unlikely to be 12 because 12 year old usually aren't even passed puberty yet. Which makes me think that many on these types of websites are in fact autistic adult males. They don't have enough skill to do anything like become an artist or anything, so they just hang around on these websites tagging things and becoming a mod etc, they are probably on some type of disability pension.

Stop being triggered that your behaviour was called out, calling out a retard doesn't make the person pointing it out a retard themselves because the actual retard claims it's "pointless" to call them out on their BS.

You are an admin on a hentai forum, that is the epitome of a loser. I know for a fact that you are a strange person and a loser for even being an admin on here and wasting your life with such nonsense. You must think it's an achievement, you are one of those losers who thinks it's an achievement that you were able to waste your life with a status saying admin and some extra abilities on a little internet forum, without a doubt you may be literally autistic and that's why you were so triggered by it.
