Topic: How do you get people to talk to you here?.

Posted under Off Topic

There are, unfortunately, a lot of difficult users on this site. It's really hard to get on people's good sides here, probably because most of the people here are horribly cynical and aren't really here to be anyone's friend.

But I've got to ask, those who're veterans at what goes on here:

What must be done in order to get people to speak to you here?

Are you sure about that? Have you any idea how stubborn most of the people here are? Half the time they don't even respond.

It's better than making forum posts that end up getting locked. You either take the 100% chance to have your words seen if/once they're on, or you take whatever chance forum posts, comments, and blips will give you. Stubborn or unresponsive users are on them and their reasons, not the system.

You've only been here five days, and you haven't posted any comments; Your only activity has been confrontational/in ya face forum threads.

Comment, tag, and give it time.

@FoxFourOhFour

For some people that isn't enough. Some people would rather still brush people off and call their art shit, even when trying to speak to them privately.

You smack of a particular user who got banned for harassing me once before. Sure you don't have something to admit?

Patience.

A lot of people swing by every couple days, or a few times a month. Send friendly messages. Leave comments. see who replies to your comments and carry on conversations. Participate in conversations on the forums. *participate* in general. and be friendly. and patient. establishing a presence on a website is not an easy or quick task.

Why doesn't anyone talk about the only joy in life

Wouldn't know. Frankly, I've never tried to talk to anybody here on a semi-serious level.

Lesson to be had? If you ban evade, they will find you.

There was one user who was even more persistent than all others. Unfortunately, his name shall not be mentioned

For it is said, that if his name was once again spoken, the e621 server would perish under the overload of his alt-accounts, and that he always waits at the e621 front-page for that day...

I noticed, a few weeks ago, that his ban had expired. I shuddered and wept to think of his (vaginal) return.

Honestly, unless ban-evasion IS his hobby, that's kinda sad :/

It really is. Some people get weirdly obsessive over things. I actually suspect that there's another dozen of that dude's accounts who got banned, but I'm not sure because the ban reason didn't include his name.

I've known another person who's fetish was shitty commenting.

Peopel are weird.
