Bumping because I was just about to suggest these myself. In fact I've manually fixed the posts with the tag myself so far, but this alias and implication is still needed for sure.

_{(also while not 100% necessary, like the case with the fanaloka, it might be good to alias ring-tailed_mongoose, brown-tailed_mongoose, and broad-striped_mongoose to their proper *_vontsira names, as the *_mongoose forms of the names were established back when they were assumed to be mongeese but very recently have changed in most scientific texts to reflect them not being mustelids at all. they're pretty commonly used interchangeably for vontsira, especially in casual situations, so an alias could help with that)}
