Topic: Remember that 3D furry platformer for the PSX I was working on?

Posted under Off Topic

Well, the project is actually still going on despite looking like yet another vaporware project when I stopped posting updates of it in the original thread. The reason of which is because development of the project was going pretty slow since this is an entirely one-man effort and I don't want to spam the forums with too many minor updates so I held back for a good long while until now.

I recently finally got around conjuring up a very basic 3D platformer prototype featuring jumping, some collision detection and a camera that follows the player. I was not able to get around doing that for a long time mainly because I was busy doing an overhaul of the engine side of the project that I wanted to sort out first.

Anyway, you can find some screenshots of the game project right here:
https://sta.sh/22bzmavvvy30

Most of them shows off the object placement feature of the engine but a screenshot of the platformer prototype is included that was captured from real hardware (stock console, not DTL-H2000 at the moment). Also, Scarlet is the name of the engine. Not the platformer game that I'm planning to do and the player model is a temporary placeholder at the moment.

I'll be getting around doing a video of the platformer prototype in action but I don't know if the admins here would be okay with me posting a link to a Youtube video hosted on a channel that has a bunch of other videos that feature my dumb face. I'd like to know so I won't end up making a post that features the link only for the admins to remove it for 'security reasons' or something.

Sounds cool but why PSX and not PC?

It's not against the rules to post your face or links to your face, but I'm sure you'd rather remain anonymous than have your face attached to a furry porn site, so create another YouTube channel (you can have multiple YouTube channels under the same Google account, YouTube treats different channels as completely different accounts). Here's a guide to do that: https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/1646861?hl=en

Cuz' its fun and more challenging to make a game and engine from scratch for a console from the mid 90s instead of grabbing Unity and making the game on it which is pretty trivial these days and quite frankly, boring.

While not as challenging as what the original licensed developers dealt with mainly because we have computers that are far more powerful than what they had back then. Its still quite challenging especially when this has been a one man effort so far.

Ehh, anonymous shanonymous. I'm not exactly like those security sensitive chickens so I don't really care if my dumb face got linked to a furry site. Besides, people can figure out my dA just from the art style of the porns I've posted if they've put enough dedication to it and my dA sometimes features links to my Youtube. Heck, the stash galleries I've linked more or less gives away my dA. As long as certain personal garbage doesn't get compromised, I don't really care much.

I also have an impression that if you're not as anon as those faceless nobodies, it shows that you got the balls (or stupidity) to not hide yourself like everyone else. I still have yet to work on the demo video though so I have some time to hear what others think that may change my mind or something.

Well, I got a demo video out not too long ago. But I decided not to link it directly on here. I will however provide a link to a post of this project on the PSXDEV forums where you can find the link to the demo video itself.

From here on out, I'll be posting updates of this project on the PSXDEV forums as I think it isn't exactly relevant post such updates on here I feel.
