I'm not really sure where to put this but, I had wanted the name "Tamamo" without the underscore, but someone with zero everything already has the name. I realize it's a bit rude to ask, but is there any way I could get that name? Should I attempt to ask them if they would be willing to give up the name in a DM, and if after X amount of time, if they don't respond, I would be able to get the name?

I suppose you could send them a message and see if they's give it up for you. I guess this is an understandable request, as I use the same username across websites. It would probably bug me as well if I couldn't use "TwistedLogik" in some variation, although I normally have to settle with adding a number or symbol in. I wouldn't get my hopes up though, as it's a 4 year old account with no activity. That's a pretty clear indicator it's unused. This might justify you wanting to take their username a bit more, but the admins would have to something about it, seeing as they probably won't respond.

i know that at least some users have already got usernames freed up from unused accounts / abandoned by asking admins about it. simply ask them.
