I finally got approved for an account and I try going to the site 5 days later only to find out they're gone. I tried googling to see if they'd moved the site, but found their WikiFur entry that says they quit due to "internal drama." That really sucks, besides this place, they were one of my fave sites. The same entry also said they were based on "Danbooru." I looked that up and its a nice place but they lack much of the content WC had (seems they're mostly focused on females and so most of the furry stuff they -do- have is chicks). So um, since WC's gone now, is it alright to post content from that board or would people from WC get upset? Just askin' first so I don't end up causing any conflicts between y'all.

I thought maybe they might be all like "zomg, yew uploaded stuff from our site, ur stealin' traffic that cudda gone to our new site that weeze gunna make in a few months!" but yeah, I guess it's not a big deal since I've seen the same images show up on both e621 and WC at the same time. Though they did have alot more text overlay translations for the lengthy kemo-shota and chubby furry mangas.

Oh and fuck that other place, Danbooru. Just a hangout for goons who think their fetishes are better than others, lol. I think I'll just stick to here instead, where the people are friendly and there's stuff I actually like and there's not a $20 fee for "privileged membership."

There are plans to bring back WC, but a coder is needed. Furvy, who used to run the site, offered to help in that regard, but no one knows how to reach him now that the site is gone.

Honestly niko, besides a few bad seeds (that show up on any site regardless of what you do) this site is pretty friendly and stable... if you're not a prick.

I agree with Aurali. This is one of the better communities I've seen on a site. Particularly odd what with this being a porn site.

I reckon the mods with their wonderful banhammers that they use liberally, is the primary reason.

Danbooru is kind of an elitist place, but that's what makes it awesome. It keeps shit images from getting approved, so that only the awesome remains. And you don't have to pay $20 for a Privileged membership there if you don't want. You can earn it. Being a Privileged user there only lets you see loli and shota images that you couldn't see otherwise. I earned Privileged status by helping out in the forums and posting relatively good artwork. Just don't be an asshole or a dumbass, and it's a good place.

Me and elitism don't mix well. And maybe it is a decent place, but the whole "Fuck you furfag," "Go to hell" welcoming tended to make me think otherwise. But I guess I just didn't know the place's history or whatever, when I read on WikiFur that WC was based on Danbooru, I misinterpreted that to mean maybe Danbooru would be like WC, with the same friendly non-aggressive environment. Despite the few arguments here and there, this place too, is pretty chill. Not often are there folks ranting about how much they hate X and anyone who likes it is a sick fuck, or long drawn out discussions about how "my fetish is better than your fetish [even though my fetish is just as sick or weird to any outside observer]"

Well, site got about 18.5k of accounts registered, but people using forums or comments -not to leave "omg I'm next" stuff- form quite small community, therefore it's not so bad.

Wildcritters.ws is reopened. due to a massive DDoS attack, they went down.

Wow, 8 years too late but...

...Wildcritters was never dead! In fact it's up right now. There was a huge pause between January to April 2018 but I'm the new owner and operator now and it's smooth and running.

Unfortunately, the site needs to start over, so all accounts and favorites were lost due to a server wipe. However, I have an archive with most of the art, I'll be making a sub-domain for that archive later in the coming months.
