Topic: Breeding Season Final Update

Posted under General

I don't know why, but if you upload the latest ver. of Breeding Season by itself on any website it will break the New Game button. I don't know if this is against the rules or not but I have no idea how to upload this otherwise. This is the original zip folder with .swf and .exe versions plus what I assume is the folder the game pulls from to work from the website before it went down.

Edit: Google Drive sucks for needing my permission for everyone. Let's try Mega.

I'm pretty sure that the resources would have to be hosted at the correct relative location on the server, in order for it to work.
E621 doesn't support either multi-file uploads or multi-directory uploads, and no image archive sites I know of support the latter at all, so my bet would be you're SOL there.

Uploading directly (via eg. ftp client) to a simple file server, in the correct relative locations, then accessing the SWF on there, would be a way to test that theory.

post #1050497 says it's version 7.5.1, according to blogspot newest was 7.7.1: http://breedingseasongame.blogspot.fi/2016/07/hotfix-771.html

Also your google drive downloading is down because of traffic it seems.

^^this. I assume there was other files along with swf and/or exe from the "by itself" part. This is somewhat common with massive projects done with flash.
For some reason I had this feeling it would be possible to combine these kind of projects into single file, but I can be severely wrong and it could be impossible without source files.

One thing I was thinking that does the Breeding Season count as under two years old paid content, when the project has been clearly cancelled?

7.7.1 Might have been Patreon exclusive, because I remember downloading this the day before shit hit the fan. So if it was, A.) I don't know if E621 would allow the upload since it is/was behind a paywall, and B.) If it's no longer available like the public releases, that version would be super hard to find.

Oh yeah, didn't even think about that. That does appear to be the case:
https://web.archive.org/web/20160816011417/http://wiki.breedingseason.com/Main_Page

Also found the following text with the browser version: "Note: Usually we also have a version embedded in-browser, but because of the game has been split into multiple swfs the in-browser version doesn't work yet. We're working on it and hope to have and in-browser version again soon."

So I'm pretty sure that's blogspot and/or mediawiki not allowing files to be in specific structure and because of that, they bumping into exact same issue that the game doesn't work unless they created simple web server which made it possible to do the structures manually.
