I don't know him quite, but he tagged his name on the artwork which was a gift from my friend. I can just change tags, but I and my friend faced this first ever. never exp'ed before.
first I just thought he just uploaded it, but even he linked e621 from his twitter page. I'm sure his intention is not quite good.
any idea to solve this situation?

*note: my friend isn't furry artist. you'll get disappointed if you see his pixiv artworks.

As tags have been changed, the upload they had the tag on was post #1397475

Almost all of the sites comply DMCA, so have your artist friend open support ticket or file DMCA on sites they are posting the artwork without credit. Sadly it's most often required it's copyright holder meaning artist needing to contact the website, I know there's at least one patreon which is posting stolen artwork with signatures removed and patreon told me to just have the copyright holders to get in contact - many which aren't active anymore or couldn't get hold of.

As for e621, report the user directly. Inserting yourself as artist in posts where you clearly are not is tagging abuse. If the artwork was modified e.g. signature removed, tag the post with edit and better_version_at_source indicating that it should be replaced with higher quality official variation and once again report the user as this is something we do not tolerate.

...as it was supposed to because the user uploaded lower quality variation of it and we usually want to keep best variations of stuff.

Also it was reuploaded by janitor.

WHY?!?!

People like attention. People like praise. and some people are compulsive liars.

I feel sorry for them because generally that stuff happens as a result of childhood trauma and living with volatile parents/guardians where telling falsehoods is learned as a defensive action and stuff. pretty sad. Known a kid like that--she was sweet, just couldn't tell the truth to save her life. but I suspect that's why her father wasn't in the picture anymore.

It's jsut sad. There are all sorts of reasons why people lie about their accomplishments Mostly, it's psychology.

It doesn't' make it okay. But empathy's important. Empty rage never helps anything.
