Topic: what do you use to draw?

Posted under Art Talk

Hello, my name is Boca the hippo, i'm a traditional artist. I love to draw,
tools that I use are

Pencil
colored pencils
crayons
stumps (blending in the colors)
popsickle sticks
cotton balls

all these tend to work for me ^^

what do you use to draw your artwork? I bet it's better than my own tools that I use

IMAGINATION!

No, really. Since I suck at drawing, they're better kept there than destroyed by my own hand...

Pencil, paper, mouse, Gimp, but it doesn't matter all that much since hardly anybody notices the end result anyway.

Mechanical pencil
Colored pencil
Watercolor paints
Fine-tip sharpie

I'm terrible with paint but I think it can be beautiful so I'm not going to give up on it yet.

Generally a mechanical pencil on printer paper. Sometimes a sketchbook or pens, but not often. For digital finishing/coloring I currently use GIMP 2, but am looking at other options.

I haven't drawn for 20 years...that is until I recently tried to enter into the Villains Victorious contest, at Hentai-Foundry, and managed to sketch something...but it was hardly recognizable and failed to enter :P

The basic tools I used were:

A) uni-ball Signo pen
B) lined paper

Note: Writing on paper with a pen is easier for me to use and takes less time to make sketches.

The most difficult tools I used were:

C) Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1
D) Sketchbook Pro (difficult but fun app once you get used to it)
E) Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 Stylus

Note: Writing on the Samsung tablet with the Samsung stylus is the hardest and most time consuming and difficult for me to use, but all work is made digitally this way for easier file transfer.

e621.net fascinates me on a daily basis so I feel like I will be able to draw again someday...hopefully something that's not an eyesore this time ;-)

These days mainly photoshop. I'm trying to learn MangaStudio5 on the side, though, and would eventually like to revisit gouache and watercolor.

You all have nothing on this guy.

As for me, some crappy drawing tablet that doesn't even have a brand and GIMP. After that, shred) is of great importance so nobody ever has to endure my art.

Photoshop
Yiynova msp19u Tablet Display

My tab display works great considering I dropped it on the floor once already.

I'm a noob at art so I'm still using MS Paint.

I'm now using Inkscape.

I use ArtRage on my tablet but I am going to try SketchBook Pro and openCanvas to see what I like the best.
