Reason:

"wpddpw" is his Tumblr username. Also much easier to type than ɯ(_–_–_)ɯ because of those inverted m's.

The artist favored "ɯ(_–_–_)ɯ" over his previous username, and I'd wager that "wpddpw" was only used because of URL limitations.

I also figured it was more appropriate to leave the current tag as it is and add the aliased tag.

I'll let the admins decide. Though your suggestion does look more favorable.

Alright, verified and approved as is. Keeping it this direction because ɯ(_–_–_)ɯ does seem to be their preferred name including the name they chose when they joined this site. But this way we also have a more typing-friendly username of theirs which will automatically become ɯ(_–_–_)ɯ without the average user having to copypaste it when tagging. And when people are coming from their tumblr, the alias will make sure everything is going into the same tag.

If we wanted it to be typable without looking at the alias list, shouldn't it have been w(_-_-_)w? When I try to mention it to somebody, I instinctively transcribe it like that rather than copypasting it, and I'm not going to remember some random string of characters either.

Artist also goes by alias exed_eyes, so aliasing this should allow there to be plain text tag which is easy to write.
