I think that's right but collar and choker are used interchangeably from what I see so I think it doesn't matter much.

They aren't supposed to be. A collar is something that hangs loosely over the neck so that whether it has a metal loop or not, one can simply fasten a cord to the collar itself. A choker is designed to fit snugly around the next so that it cannot be pulled over the head. People tagging these things backwards have it all wrong.

So you can turn a collar into a choker by tightening it?

I use choker when it's clearly decorative (and snug to neck like you said) and collar when it looks like it could be used with a leash. If it's snug and patterned but it also has a metal ring for attaching a leash, it's still a collar.

That's a good way of looking at it, but Shock collars don't normally have a loop for a leash.

bump...

+1 to the implication

chokers are purely decorative or a type of cut in fashion designs.

collars are made to be utilitarian or are a specific area on clothing that covers the torso.

the tightness around the neck has no bearing on ether one.

For people who have shock collar fetishes, it makes a world of difference. with this logic, canine and horse penises should be recategorized as penises because there's no difference in intended use.

Implicating shock_collar → collar
Link to implication

Reason:

It's a type of collar. All current posts confirm this implication.

This is insane.

Please, someone fix this.

...Canine and horse penises DO imply penis? If they don't it just hasn't been gotten to yet. 'Implication' means 'if x applies, y ALSO applies, so the y tag will always be added if x is tagged'.

To expand on this:

All wolves are canines. However, not all canines are wolves.

So, Wolf implies canine.

Horse_cock and equine_penis are the same thing, just with different words.

Horse_cock aliases to equine_penis.

There's nothing to fix, this is an implication request, not an alias. An alias will replace the tag, but an implication will not. You can search for collar and get all types of collars that are implied, collar -shock_collar to make sure you only get collars that aren't shock collars, or shock_collar to only get shock collars, and not any other sort.
