Topic: Can I replace my submission file?

Posted under General

I've just uploaded my art for the first time a few minutes ago. Then I realized that there is a small mistake than I'm going to fix on it in a moment, but I could not find a way to replace the file.

Can I replace it instead of having to delete and re-upload?

Sorry if this is somewhere in the Help, I couldn't find anything, maybe I'm blind.

Do not delete and then reupload: Reupload first and then flag the original as an inferior (Do not use the 48 hour reason).

I see, thank you!

Will that carry over Favorites, Votes and the like though?

Doing it that way lets it carry over favorites, but unfortunately not likes. You can add it into the description something like Update of post #1582075 so that people can go to the old page and view comments.

Thanks! It1s been deleted by an admin already. The post is not gone, however, only the picture, so I still have both of them under my tag.

So I assume it's OK to just edit the deleted one and remove tags so it doesn't show up anywhere? There are no comments on it, so it's useless now.

Never nuke tags, please. It's impossible to edit the tags after deletion, but sometimes people run a search for statis:deleted alongside tags, and may want to chexk the superior.

Why would you do that?

It hurts my OCD that there are two posts to my artist tag, and one of them is the deleted one which has no use or value now. :(

The tag counter should update eventually and show only 1 next to your artist name, since there is only 1 active post. Don't worry about it too much.

I do it occasionally (well, usually status:any) to look for images that I remember seeing here but can't seem to find. Sometimes it was in fact a deleted post but there's a working source link. Sometimes there is no source link and I'm just sad, but whatcha gonna do.

I also go though my upvotes with status:deleted every so often to look for things like higher quality replacements.
