Reverse it.
"ti" is used in the Japanese system that the Japanese people use for themselves in ***SOME*** situations. it is not 'friendly' to english speakers trying to learn how to 'correctly' pronounce the letter.

Which is to say "nukochi" is closer to how a japanese person would say it than "nukoti."

There's a lot of post ww2 politics involved here... but I"m not gonna get into it.. but for us "chi" is more correct.
