Topic: Does anyone blacklist Explicit and/or Questionable material?

Posted under Off Topic

This has been a question I've had in the back of my mind since I joined; is there anyone on this site that blacklists Explicit and/or Questionable content and just comes to enjoy some clean furry art? I am curious!

I normally blacklist everything except safe just so I can read forum threads without wandering eyes locking onto a dick or boob in a thumbnail, but I recently deleted the entry so I could source something without having to keep clicking toggle.

Good reminder to put it back actually lol. And it is fun to focus on differently rated content every once in a while :D

You can also type
Rating:safe
in the search bar to filter out all explicit and questionable rating pictures.

I know at least one for sure and second that maybe blacklists at least full on explicit material here, so yeah, this is a thing.

I know that at least huge portion of our userbase will never utilize the search engine to it's fullest.

I used to have rating:e blacklisted. Not anymore though, some stuff I like happens to be e-rated, sometimes for odd reasons. I still have some "X rating:e" lines in the blacklist.

Rating Q is not worth blacklisting imo. Too much stuff gets rated Q.

I kinda wish there were one more rating, X, so I would blacklist that instead.
But it's been discussed, and chances are slim.

I blacklist -rating:s mostly to filter out people's gross avatars. I don't really browse the site beyond my job or looking at the stats of my own art here.

Oh cool!
As for me, I definitely go on this site to view Q and E material. I don't like to blacklist S material for comics and some clean animations are good.

You could just use e926.

It's struck me as weird that there's two different URLs... It's good that e621 does allow SFW. And like the poster mentioned, you can block explicit and questionable (I would block the tags "rating:e" and "rating:q" if you want to do that.)

So yeah, I still don't really get why we need e926.

E926 also would have no adult-oriented ads. Plus, it's useful for linking to material on e621 without risking someone then browsing onto something NSFW. It's bowdlerization as it's supposed to be done, as a safe gateway to the full, unexpurgated version for those who need it without mucking around with blacklists.

(That was Thomas Bowdler's intent for his sanitized versions of Shakespeare's plays. He wanted children to later move on to the full versions of the plays when they were old enough to handle the more adult content.)

e926 has no nsfw content at all. like no nsfw ads, and even if you open nsfw post in there, the image wont show up. also afaik using the random feature wont bring up anything nsfw either. also if you just blacklist questionable and explicit on e621, majority of search results would be empty.

its very different from just blacklisting nsfw content. in e621 you still are very likely to get dicks on your screen even if you blacklist the nsfw stuff, in e926 that is impossible unless someone misrates their posts.

why not blacklist just -rating:e
does the same trick but with even less blacklist entries

I didn't know you could do that.
