Topic: How to request a change of alias to a tag that is already aliased?

Posted under Tag/Wiki Projects and Questions

I am wondering if there is a way to change the alias of a tag that already has one. Specifically I am asking because double_penis, doublepenis, double_cock, and doublecock are all aliased as multi_penis, despite the hemipenes tag being more fitting as an alias for them due to being more specific. The alias request form didn't work because it doesn't accept requests for tags that already have aliases.

Thank you for the response, I didn't know diphallism was a tag, that makes sense as a reason why they are aliased the way they are.

With regards to suggesting a change of alias, unfortunately, it's not a feature yet. You'll have to post a thread about it, or maybe message an admin I guess.

If you have an tag you believe should be reversed aliased, either go to the initial forum post and state your case as to why it should be changed there, or create an a forum post with the title stating the tag you want changed and to what, and describing why in your description.

What you do is you go to the forum. you click "new topic" and you place it in the 'tag alias and implication suggestions' section. Give it a good descriptive title, and a descriptive body.

you don't need to use the 'to suggest an alias/implication' options. Those just save the staff one extra step of set up. No big deal.

That only works if an admin cares to look at it and do something, since there's not really a paper trail reminder like the alias/implication tracker. Plenty of change/remove alias/implication threads have been forgotten.

Somewhat unrelated, I wish there was a search feature for the reason textbox on the alias/implication index. As far as I can tell there isn't one nor an efficient way to search forum threads. I mention this because I was reminded of all the artist name aliases that are pending and the "Reason" search would be an easy way to find many of them, since most people say something like "same artist" in the reason. I can't imagine figuring out artist names and merging them is very difficult in most cases.
