Topic: Tag Alias: tom_(tom_&_jerry) -> tom_(tom_and_jerry)

Posted under Tag Alias and Implication Suggestions

@BooruHitomi I left butch_(tom_&_jerry) alone, mainly due to there being multiple characters named butch in the tom and jerry series: butch cat and the character also called "the irish dog". I was contemplating maybe aliasing it, and toots_(tom_&_jerry), to the base tom and jerry tag or something due to this

I think a disambiguation would be better in that case.

True, but how exactly would I structure that as a tag? butch_(tom_and_jerry)_(disambiguation) is a bit clunky and I thought it might be a bit awkward, but I mean it isn't broken or anything and could be used as a legitimate disambig tag.

Or we could just alias it into the basic butch_(disambiguation) page instead and then redirect users on its wiki page.

Either butch_(disambiguation) or butch_(t&j_disambiguation).

Isn't Tom usually referred to as Tom Cat/Thomas Cat? Perhaps the tag could be one of those (probably tom_cat, since Jerry's tag doesn't use his full name of Jerald).

Tom cat is an incredibly common slang term for a male domestic cat, hence tom's name in the cartoon. It is way too vague imho for his character tag, and would likely lead to rampant misuse, so I used his canon full name that would confuse people less.

Jerry does not have a canon full name, and is just referred to as "jerry mouse", never "jerald mouse"
