Topic: Question about Artist Tagging

Posted under General

Hello, Brood Spider here. I'm new here and I would like to know how tagging works here? Do the mods make them once a user post something or do I have to make a request, or is it something else?

Thank you for any replies and hope you don't get caught in the Intergalactic Combine of Xeno Breeding's webs :3.

Users that are under privilege rank can only change tag types manually via the tags page

Privileged and above can change them via meta tags such as artist:, character:, etc etc

Given how new Brood Spider is, I would assume it's more of a general question.

Any registered user can add and remove tags from any post using the edit button just beneath the post description.

Be sure that you are familiar with the tag before you add it, and that you're familiar with tagging rules, such as Tag What You See

Most popular tags will have a wiki page associated with them, which can be viewed by clicking the ? to the left of the tag. If a wiki page doesn't exist, then feel free to make one!

If a tag doesn't exist, you can still add it, but it's likely that it simply goes under a different name (some of these are aliased to other tags, such as futanari -> intersex); it's a tag that is not enforceable under TWYS (transgender is a common example); or it's just simply misspelled.

EDIT:
Ignore all that, I just read the the thread title

Since he's new, despite it being about general tagging, when you post something, after you've put a few tags in manually, you can click the link under the tag box that says "related tags," which, as the name implies, gives a list of similar/related tags for each tag that you've put. You can then add them to the tag box by clicking the tag or remove them by shift/ctrl clicking.

Sorry if it's too obvious but whenever I see an upload with only a few tags I often presume they didn't know about that feature, plus it can be easy to miss, and it makes tagging things a lot quicker and helps you not to miss the more obvious ones.

Yes, I am very new to the website. Won't able to post until the end of April. Thank you for the feature, that will come in handy.
