Sad to hear this. Didn't know him much but his art had a nice 90's feel to it.

Holy shit. His FA page confirms it. Jim's dead. That's a huge shame. He was truly a great artist, and he will be missed. Shitty fucking news to get on my birthday. He died way too soon.

I haven't been able to find any details about his passing, and the info his family has put up online has been very sparse indeed. Doesn't look like there's going to be much info unless maybe someone can dig up a newspaper obituary from his hometown or something.

When I first looked at this post and saw the name "James" I instantly thought of James Hetfield and I was like "No fucking way man!"

Shitton of health problems. Eventually they caught up with him.

This brings up a question for me.
I know Hardiman wasn't on the DNP list, but if he was, and in the case of a person's passing, does the DNP still stand or does it become null and void?

My all-time favorite artist. He's why I'm here. Most down to earth artist I've ever talked to.

Although it can be overturned by whoever the artist transfers copyright of their artwork to, I think we'd maintain the DNP status just out of respect. We wouldn't say "WELL YOU CAN'T STOP US NOW SINCE YOU'RE DEAD". :x

*Hugs* I'm sorry, man. :( Jesus, it feels so weird saying the words "James Hardiman is dead." I didn't know him personally, but I did have a small discussion with him on FA, and he was a genuinely cool dude. He was a gearhead, so I felt some connection to him. Even though I didn't know him personally, I feel like I did. There's void in my heart and it's so weird. Damn, Jim, why'd you have to leave us like this? What makes this even sadder is the fact that he had an account here, too. I truly hope he's in a better place.

What the hell, man. He was one of my favorite artists. Was never afraid to go outside of the art hugbox to call someone out on their shit. Nice guy to everyone else, too.

I did not know him but I've seen his artwork. We have lost a great artist. One of the few greatest in fact. *Raises shotgun and fires six rounds.*

Yep, same for me. I only really knew him from that Penance vs Dickbitch Molly comic (which in this context may sound like I'm taking the piss), but I enjoyed reading that and he seems like a good person from what I've gathered.
So here's to you, Jim. *raises whisky*

I heard from one of his friend's FA journals that it had it was because of liver failure.
