Topic: Images not loading

Images and flashes on the site won't load for me anymore. I can see thumbnails, but when I click them, all I get is a list of the tags where the image should appear. I can't do anything to get to the image. I've tried disabling all addons and plugins, but still, nothing. I tried a proxy, and still, nothing. I tried right clicking and hitting view image, which either brought me to a page saying "Nobody here but us chickens" or another thumbnail of the image. This is very frustrating because I love this site and I can't see anything on it anymore, except in thumbnails. I know it's not my isp either because I can see the images fine on my iPod touch. I can't figure out how to get it to work. Any help would be much appreciated.

It's likely you're running something on your computer which is tampering with the referrer. Either your browser, or some kind of firewall software.

Fucking hell. AVG is off, windows firewall is off, what is keeping them from showing up!??

Is this the only site that you are having problems with? Also, have you tried using another browser to view the site?

I believe if you have ad-blocking of any sort running you've got a high chance of having problems viewing actual images as well.

e621 does not have suspicious-looking URLs for it's images, though.

I'm having problems too, Firefox seems to be the only broweser affectred by this 'bug' :<

EDIT: Firefox 3.0.10, to be more precise

Use Wireshark to check that the HTTP requests have not been tampered with.

Just ran firefox in safe mode (all extensions etc disabled)
no luck :(

You might be running firewalling software or something that's rewriting your requests.

Another problem, I'm not running a firewall because i'm behind a NAT and I haven't changed the configuration since e621 still worked for me.

It only happens in firefox, e621 works in Chrome/Iron and IE.

Load up Firefox using a blank profile and see if that works.

This site seems to require that you send a referrer header. I normally browse with referrers off, so I use the RefControl addon. You could also edit the "network.http.sendRefererHeader" option in about:config; it should have a value of "2" if you want to this site to work.

A note if you use RefControl, set the site as "e621.net" rather than "www.e621.net"

I'm having the same issue, and I use Chrome. Tried to switch to Firefox (as I usually do when chrome is being a bitch) but the problem persisted. Never happened before, and I haven't changed any setting, nor have I DLed any new software etc. D:

At least we know the search function works and people use it

Apparently, adblocking software may mess with URLs like that. E.G. AdBlock+.
What they do: on HTTP request they create link that address some 3rd party proxy with actual url requested. Proxy processes it, then downloads content, checks against "proper content" and sends to user of AdBlock - web pages are modified to exclude ads, even file names are modified (for security reasons? dunno) That really breaks functionality of some websites.

I have it disabled here, so I don't think it has something to do

better late than never!

Now I am faced with this problem. I live in Russia and we have e621 under the ban of visiting. Because I use proxy extension - frigate.
Long tormented, I did not understand why I could not connect. But only then I solved the problem: you need to enter static1.e621.net in the list of sites that are downloaded through the proxy. For me, it worked, maybe someone else will help it.
