No. I'm lucky to live in one of the most gay-friendly cities in the world, with an incredibly supportive family. It also helps I wasn't the first gay guy in my family (that being my uncle.)
Many people don't pick up I'm gay on meeting me because I'm not particularly camp. If it's someone I become friends with and it hasn't just come up in normal conversation, at some point I'll go "This might not be super relevant, but I'm a huge homo. Just so it isn't a shock in like a year or something."

In regards to furry; yes. Absolutely no one has any need to know about that and I think it's a stupid thing to categorize yourself as anyway. Some of my irl friends know but...

Semi-closeted. Part of my family thinks I'm a gheyboi.
Would be more open about which way I swing if my closest family members weren't dumb/uneducated and/or religious dickwads.

Nope! I rarely tell people my interests. Specially furry and other interests (pony included). I've hinted them, though.

Indirectly I have told people I'm furry, they still think I'm just trolling, and they troll a friend who is more a brony than furry (I think he is, but if he truly is, he should be so deep in the furry closet that even I haven't found out)

As far as being gay, I guess I kind of still am in the closet. Working on it though. I only made the decision to start being honest with myself about it at the beginning of the year. Since then, I've only come out to one of my friends on Steam (as a test run), my grandma, and then my best friend. Telling other people is really just a matter of waiting for a good moment to do it. So far responses have been positive (the "worst" being a sort of neutral "Oh, okay. No big deal." from the Steam friend), so I'm thankful for that.

Talking about being a furry though? I'm not so keen on telling others. Don't really need to. I did tell that Steam friend as part of the test run, just to get a feel for things first (again, fairly neutral response). My grandma says I could do pretty much anything and she wouldn't think I was weird (or at least any more weird than I am) but then again, I know for a fact that her only idea of "what is a furry?" comes from that one episode of CSI or whichever crime show of the month that was. The one with the fursuiter orgy. You know the one.

Now if I knew someone else were a furry, or if they knew someone who was and was cool with it, then yeah, I'd probably tell them. But that's another story.
