Topic: A few questions I wouldn't mind answered

Posted under General

I'm curious as to a couple things.

Why is it that you cannot follow accounts? It would be nice to be updated when someone posts.

Why is it that it is called E621? A strange name

Why is it that there is no functionality to follow tags? I find it strange.

That is all. :3

I look forwards to finding out

There is functionality to follow tags. RSS subscription . Same applies to 'when someone posts', if you are referring to uploads-- subscribe to eg. user:TheHuskyK9. If you're referring to forum posts and comments, then yeah, e621 doesn't have subscription for that.. it's not really trying to be 'social media'-like, despite the presence of the blips system.

"E621" is a reference to the flavour enhancer MSG , whose "E" additive code is '621'.

e621 is an archive, not a gallery. Posters are most times irrelevant as they are usually not the creator of the artwork, but a third party uploader.

I see, but wouldn't it be nice if you could follow a certain tag set.

If you want to follow an artist, subscribing to the artist's tag (eg tom_fischbach ) is the way to do that.

If I haven't been clear about what you can subscribe to, you can subscribe to *any* search that you would normally make, not just individual tags.

Savage is talking about a third-party feature, RSS subscription, if I'm reading their previous post correctly

Because the site made some people salty.

I always thought is was a reference to the 621 convention schedule.
