Topic: Trying to wrap my head around auto-deletion

Posted under General

I imagine this topic is common, but I'm not sure what else to do.

A little over a month ago, I made my first posts here. Three of my own works, all of which have been automatically deleted. "...In approval queue for more than 30 days."

I mean, I get why... but I also don't. The purpose of approving submissions is what; keeping images that go against ToS off the site, or just removing "sub-par" art?

I completely understand that there are only so many people that are capable/willing to devote their unpaid time to the content-control of a furry porn site... I can appreciate that. Not everything gets through. But why have staff-approval? If a post meets/exceeds requirements, auto-deletion seems unfair. Let the community do the policing...

It would be just peachy if my posts would be...what's even word for this, "reinstated," "un-deleted"(?) but I am honestly less than hopeful.

What do I do now? Looking at my options here, I'd wager that option A)stop being a bitch and deal with it would win the popular vote. I'll even double down on that bet and say option B)re-upload the deleted posts is the absolute wrong choice. ...Help/guidance appreciated, thanks

There is a subjective standard of artistic quality in addition to the objective ToS standards. Art that falls off the end of the queue after 30 days typically was part of a "grey zone" where nobody believed it was good enough to approve, but nobody was confident enough that it was bad enough to delete manually.

There is a (small, but varies) chance that a piece was simply missed, as there is an enormous quantity of art posted here each day and sometimes the approvers are busy and things will get missed.

But with 3 in a row, my guess is that none of the approvers felt the work was of high enough quality to stay on the site. Please don't be discouraged, keep practicing and I'm sure you'll get there sooner than you think!

I did see your images, there was problems with characters anatomy enough to possibly warrant deletion, but I did not have solid enough opinion to determine on the matter.

Also we have discussed of crowdsourced policing a lot, this becomes problematic when talking of subject matters like specific fetishes, memes, screencaps, popularity of artist, etc. etc. So at least for now, the current system is still working and hopefully we do get more janitor candinates so current literal handful aren't buried from time to time.

As for restoring the deleted posts, like it says on auto moderators bio, please contact NotMeNotYou.
Even if they do not restore the content, they can provide more detailed reasoning of what's problematic on the posts.

As much as I didn't want to, I figured that it was a case of quality. Bit of a kick in the teeth, but the sting has worn off over the hour. Plus, I guess "not that bad" is better than being outright deleted, right? :> Thank you for the insight and encouragement!

Thank you for some answers on this matter. I can agree my level of work isn't where I'd like it to be...
