Slight backstory, im a great fan of Kagerofu's artwork who is now on the DNP list. Im not gonna ask how he ended up there or why im doubt he would come here and put a detailed answer in.

My question is who is exactly shiitakemeshi?

is the same as the one what was always branded as kagerofu's artwork along with this lovely lady:

Is this the same guy who creates art under a different alias or someone whos great at copying style?

Fairly convinced it's the same person, seeing their current Twitter display name is "kagerou nikki".

Im fairly sure they are the same person but then it begs the question why is their previous art on the DNP and the new one freely avaible?

I see that the girls all grown up in the art and there are seemingly no actual lewds (or atleast i was not able to find any despite it seems like there are some).

I guess i have a new person to follow.

I wouldn't take the presence of the artwork to mean that the DNP has been lifted, especially not without an alias connecting the two tags.

Necro reply time. It seems that some time quite recently their twitter account disappeared :/

Not sure when exactly but based on my most recent visit according to my history, it happened some time after the 7th of January this year.

web.archive.org doesn't help either since it only has a few snapshots from back in 2019.

Their account at https://marshmallow-qa.com/shiitakemeshi which was linked in their twitter bio is still up so maybe their twitter was either accidentally removed, or maybe it's the Kagerofu situation all over again.

I as well am a huge fan of their art and would like to know if anyone knows anything more.

They posted something towards the end of December sounding like they were either fed up with something or someone (maybe an employer?) found their twitter account. Just hope they're alright.
