i really dislike the new placement of the resize feature. can i change it clientside to have it back on the left side to where it just says resize image instead of having to scroll all the way to the bottom if a massive image in order to resize it? or maybe a floating button somewhere that lets you resize it at any time

You can have a userscript do that, provided someone would be willing to write one.
Perhaps, you can use a hotkey to resize images? It's v by default
