Click on tag history.
because people used the uploaded by as a status simble, and others thought that the person who uploaded the image was claiming that they created the image. There is a slew of reasons why that doesn't show up on the image anymore.
Deliberate change.
We do not need another Robinebra and I do not want more dmails about plagiarism because uploader is someone else than artist specifically.
Also not sure why uploader should be put to pedestal when those fixing the uploaders possible mistakes are hidden in the tag/desc history.
Janitor+ do still see this on page itself, but this is mostly that we have more immidiate data of how to handle the post, e.g. if there's conditional artist who only allows themselves or specific accounts to post.
Thanks for the explanation, I never thought this kind of thins were used to happen.

I wish I could see it on the page itself; it's quite handy when I see a post that has been undertagged or incorrectly tagged to easily see if there's a pattern with a certain uploader tagging poorly. I've given advice to many people through private messages in the past, and generally it has been appreciated and resulted in those people tagging better in the future, but now it's more annoying to do that.

The thing with tagging is that it could also be situation of someone maliciously removing tags.
Additionally if you do see post with poor tagging and see it was by uploader from tag history, you can easily check the users post changes from their profile to see if they are uploading constantly like that.
Because tags can be handled by anyone, but the post file will always stay the same.

I understand that, I'm just saying it's harder to notice patterns without specifically going to seek them out.
Let me give an example. 3d artwork often fails to get tagged as such - I notice this because it should typically be caught by my blacklist. In the past, seeing undertagged 3d artwork, I noticed I was seeing the same name several times as the uploader, and once I noticed that I went and confirmed they were missing the tag consistently, and politely let them know, and future artwork they uploaded had the tag.
Without the uploader's name being visible easily, there is no way to passively notice patterns like this. Yes, I still have the ability to seek out patterns of behavior, but I'm typically not going to do that unless I notice a large influx of posts in a short period of time all at one time with the same problem.
Yes, the information is still accessible, but it's accessible in a location that makes it far less likely that I'll ever see or notice it.
For the record, I didn't even know that this was a feature or element of the site before the changes were made. It doesn't sound like it was necessary to keep anyway.

There were a few situations that came up where someone pathetically thought they "owned" an upload because the uploaded it

I saw this artist complaint where the artist thought the uploader was claiming to be them, though that mostly seems to be ESL diffuclties as they don't seem to realise the artist tag isn't the uploader.

I remember there was a commissioner who went ballistic when someone uploaded art they had commissioned before they did. They demanded the uploader take down said art so the commissioner could be the one to upload it.

I'm confused how the artist thought the uploader was claiming to be them.
