I tried to write it in the artist row and also as alias_(artist).
So how do I add a new artist tag or do I first need to request a new tag or something?

If it's a brand new tag, you need to write it as artist:[namehere]. If the tag already exists, click on the ? next to the tag, then click "Edit Tag" on the top banner; you'll be able to change the tag to an artist from there.

Add artist: to the beginning of the tag if creating a new artist tag.
