If the artist wants to be unbanned and post on e621, they will need to provide proof of age (e.g., identity card) to [email protected].

If it has been at least 18 years since an artist was banned for being under 18, is it safe to assume it probably isn't an issue any more?

I don't believe that it works that way. They would still have to provide proof that one is of age to access this website.
I believe someone even got banned for admitting that they'd just turned 18 after years of being on the site, see topic #24380.

And what would count as proof then? I feel like it's abit easy to fake proof via photoshop or somthing for any evridence. And, evidence would almost feel like doxxing wouldn't it?

Typically identity cards, driver's licence, birth certificate, passport, or any official document with your date of birth on it.
I don't know how the senior management verifies the validity of the submitted documents, but general verification processes nowadays would have you post a selfie and a clear screenshot of your photo attached on your ID card.

As for doxxing, nobody other than the head admin would go through the submitted documents. It would be highly improbable for any malicious intent to occur.

That's pretty silly. If the purpose of the rule is to keep underage users off, waiting 18 years is one way to do that. Asking for an official ID is very invasive and creepy. I and many others would sooner ban evade or stop contributing entirely than to submit that evidence.

Even if age-based bans were to expire after 18 years, the earliest working post, post #13, is from February of 2007, and the oldest negative records are from April two years after. We're still a few years off before the whole "surely they're adults by now" argument.

Knowingly letting minors browse an adult site is creepy and illegal. Getting age verification from a user whom was banned because of being underaged (and now wants to get unbanned) is the bare minimum you should do.

Not arguing with that. Compromises shouldn't be made, but alternative verification methods shouldn't be shot down as long as they work.

I don't think alternative methods are being shot down. It's just that government-issued IDs are simply the most commonly-used example for a method to prove one's age. Furthermore, all one would need to do is 1) show that a government-issue ID exists, 2) show that this ID belongs to the submitter, and 3) have a DoB on it. All other information (name, address, ID number, expiration date, and whatever other sensitive information is on the ID) can and should be blacked out as it's irrelevant for the purpose.

he makes porn again but only posts it in his server on discord

Where can I find an invite to this discord server?

Saw an artist get banned, and was curious so clicked DA link and birthday was Apr 3, 2005. Another was 2002. Too bad we can't rely on Deviant Art to be accurate. Well, at least for removing bans. Adding them is fine! XD

*this topic gets locked* <-- Not gonna be shocked.
