Topic: [Source Film Maker Question] Can You Make Parts Outside Of The Rig Moveable?

Posted under Off Topic

Heya Doods, Asked this question on steam and Reddit and haven't
gotten any help yet. And with all the Source Film Maker
content here there's a great chance there's a peep here who knows!

I'm looking to make this dood's ear move so I can add a flick
of the ear animation but I'm still pretty new to 'Source and
not sure if you can make individual parts outside of the rig
moveable.

Can I do that or would I need to tackle this from a different angle?

I had this problem with my bear model where I wanted to move the ears, but there wasn't bones in them, so asked the zarya to make second version with ear bones so I could have things like the crat hat on the bear like so.

There's workaround for this by simply rendering the assets in two seperate images and then combining them, but that is tedious and doesn't work with animations.

So you will most likely need someone to rig the model to have bones on the ears.

Ah~ Gotcha Gotcha, Dood and Thanks For The Reply!
Awesome to know there's a work around but not so
awesome to hear it won't work with animation.

Though when there's a will there's a way and when
there's a way there's another way to get there!
