Is prostitution just sex or does it cover a boarder category of selling one's body?
The wiki defines it as The act of offering sexual activity in exchange for currency. So I supposed my question is really about the boundaries of sexual activity.

For example is selling topless refills or selling spankings prostitution?

I hope it's okay to reply to this so many months later.

An example for me is this one:

In this Furronika piece, a tenant is paying off part of his rent by bottoming for his landlord. The dialog implies this is a temporary arrangement. Is this prostitution, sex for a week's rent? I'm not sure how it should be tagged, but it's not the only example. Is it bribery, sex for not being evicted? Is it both?

In the following one it's heavily implied this wolf is bribing the referee with sex. I'm not sure if the situation is explicit enough to get tags, since this might just be in a scandalous corrupt relationship, but a bribe seems likely from the context. Is that a form of prostitution? Should the (barely used) bribery tag apply?

If the answer is no to all of these, is prostitution a subset for exchanging sexual favors for something? If so do tags exist, or even should they exist for other things like bribing with sex?

I'm not sure exactly how the prostitution tag should be utilized, though the wiki describes it as "The act of offering sexual activity in exchange for payment".

  • Following that definition, I think that the 3rd and 4th examples would probably qualify as prostitution (since the form of payment doesn't have to be money). Though bribe/bribery would probably count in these posts as well.
  • I'm not sure about the 1st and 2nd examples, since neither of those seem to be offering sex (but still seem to be offering services that are sexual). I'm wondering if a broad tag should be utilized (like sex_work or sexual_work) for prostitution and other similar jobs that don't quite qualify as prostitution.
